This Sunday started out like all Sundays seem to when we have guests in town.
We took a trip to Tas-T-O’s Donuts!
This was the third Sunday in a row that we’ve visited Tas-T-O’s. We have to show our visitors the best of Ocala, and Tas-T-O’s doughnuts are legit.
I opted for an apple fritter, as did Ryan’s mom and her boyfriend after hearing our rave reviews.
The apple fritters are soft enough to pull apart and are simply doughnut perfection.
Rather than sit on the curb to eat our doughnuts like we did with my family last week, we headed to Starbucks for some coffee and Frappuccinos and ate our doughnuts while chatting away.
Chai crème Frappuccino. Get in mah belly!
Grill Time
After overloading on morning sugar, we headed to Lowe’s to pick out a grill. Ryan’s mom bought the grill for Ryan as a birthday present and we’re so excited to fire it up soon!
(Superman shirt = Dwight Howard/Orlando Magic reference. Ryan is not a closet comic book guy… though he does love the word jumbles in the newspaper.)
Would you like some make-believe grilled chicken from our new grill? Or perhaps my wallet since clearly I’m begging someone to steal from my purse?
Lunch
When we came home, it was time to put the finishing touches on Les’ secret sauce.
We now have enough tomato meat sauce to fill an army!
Aside from those containers that are now filling our freezer, we have another huge Tupperware container full of the sauce in our fridge and used a bunch at lunchtime for some delicious pasta with homemade meatballs and Italian sausage.
That sauce is seriously delicious enough to put in a bowl and eat on its own. (I did it for a snack again this afternoon.)
I apologize in advance if you see tomato sauce on 99 percent of my meals in the upcoming future.
I wish I could share the recipe but it’s a family secret and I don’t want the Italians to come hunt me down and turn me into a meatball.
Team Meatball! I love those two. Blast in a glass.

Hey Julie! I just wanted to let you know that you inspired me to start blogging. I LOVE this blog- as you’ll see I already mentioned it in mine. I love your writing style and your use of pictures, and so that’s what I’m aiming for (of course with my own voice, though). I decided to do a sort of supplement to blogs like yours, for us less experienced foodies/fitness fiends. Pretty much it’s for people to laugh at me (because I cannot cook and managed to mess up your peanut butter granola recipe…i know…) and relate to me as we look up to people like you. So thank you for the inspiration!

If I ever make a trip to Ocala (which I don’t see that happening any time in the near future- unless I’m trucking it up to gville for a fball game) I will be sure to hit up Ocala’s finest Donut joint! I don’t even like donuts that much (unless they are hot and fresh out of the oven), but those look unreal!
Go team meatball!!

That sauce looks so good! When your last blog post title was secret sauce, I immediately thought of that episode of Saved By The Bell! The one where Screetch made his family’s secret sauce recipe to sell. “The sauce you can have, but the secret it’s mine.” Haha 😉

Sounds like a great Sunday to me! The hubby and I make a big pot of suace and freeze it as well. When I am sick of pasta, I will sautee all kinds of veggies and make like a Ratatouille-zucchini, squash, peppers (red, green, yellow),onions and mix w/the sauce.
Some times I will add barley to this mix as well to get some good fiber/protein in.
We also love to make stuffed peppers-either w/meat and brown rice, or quinoa.
enjoy!!

Ohh this post makes me hungry. Josh and I found the best sticky bun place this weekend, as well as a place that made caramelized donuts with ice cream and chocolate sauce for dessert. They were so good!

The pic with the pasta on the fork is bomb diggity. As our those two Jersey Shore meatballs! Awesome! My husband and I have a standard Sunday tradition as well: Thai Food! We all have our vices 😉

There is a place in Manhattan called Holey Moley, and every time I walk by I think of you. They serve donut ice cream sandwiches.
Yep–soft serve with crazy toppings (cereal!) served in a sliced donut sandwich. Ridic.
