We Bought a House!!!

September 4, 2014 by Julie 124 Comments

This morning was a bit more exciting than most mornings around here.

We bought a house!!!

buying a house

A little after 9 a.m. today, Ryan and I officially became first-time homeowners.

It’s kind of blowing my mind right now. We will have our official walk through later today and then the movers are going to show up at our house tomorrow morning. Tomorrow night will be our first night in our new home!

Breakfast + Workout

Before the whole buying a house thing, my day began the usual way with a workout and breakfast. I wasn’t sure I would make it to Pure Barre this morning because I slept horribly last night, but I was already awake when my alarm went off, so I changed and headed out the door.

I took the 7 a.m. Pure Barre class and followed it up with a cup of Greek yogurt and a bottle of green juice.

After Ryan and I closed on our house, he headed into work while I popped into Starbucks to blog and grab something else to eat.

Starbucks breakfast

Another spinach feta wrap and a cinnamon dolce cappuccino! A winning combination!

Hope you guys are having a great day. Aside from our house news, one of my very best friends (since elementary school!) went into labor this morning, so I am just a bundle of emotions right now. I cannot wait to see pictures of her sweet little son!!!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Looooved my Pure Barre class this morning! When I called my husband after class was over, I’m not sure if I was more excited to tell him that I made it through the “chair pose” thigh segment without coming out of the pose to rest OR if, as I told him, “my morning looked like Julie’s from Peanut Butter Fingers!” You know, minus the house. 🙂

Hi Kimberly! Just happened to spot your comment. Where in AZ are you moving to? My husband and I just moved to the Gilbert area a few months ago! You’re coming at the perfect time as the heat will hopefully be on its way out soon! 😉

We’re planning to stay with my parents while house hunting, and they live in Surprise. I’m not quite sure where we’ll end up though! I grew up in Arizona, but my husband is a native Californian so I don’t think he knows yet what he’s in for next summer. 🙂

Definitely not at ALL what I would imply! Families come in all shapes and sizes. I just meant that I’m always so impressed with home-owning in general! It’s a HUGE step and a really big deal and a very “grown-up” thing!

Ooops — sorry to misinterpret you! I’m glad your intention was positive 🙂 PS – I agree with you that it seems so daunting! I personally am 80% glad I rent, though 20% of me wishes I could paint the walls and replace hardware… and maybe some other things 🙂

Congratulations! Everything about buying your first house is a very wild, surreal experience. You made it! Can’t wait to see the new place. Is this one of the places you guys plan to remodel? (You mentioned wanting to do that to some of the houses you were looking at, and one in particular that fell through, but maybe this one too?)

Big day! lots of positive thoughts your way!

The first line … “We bought a house” reminded me of the movie “We Bought A Zoo” but when I read it to myself, I of course busted out the melody of “I’m on a boat” bahahaha!!! ANYWAY … congratulations!!! I hope its a great first house experience.

I remember the day we signed on our first home! My signatures were terrible because my hands were shaking so much! It’s been alot of ups and downs (water heater broke and flooded a portion of the basement, then a basement window leaked after a particularly bad storm, whole new HVAC system in the house….all in the first 6 months of owning a home) but its been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. All the great stuff definitely outweighs the bad!
