Apple Happy

February 16, 2011 by Julie 88 Comments

Chia seeds rock my socks!

Chi Chi Chi CHIA!

Seriously.

They add just the  right amount of crunch and texture to my yogurt bowls and I love knowing that I’m sneaking some quality Omega 3s into my diet. Win, win. (Stay tuned for an awesome giveaway that may or may not include these babies this afternoon!)

Included in this morning’s breakfast bowl:

  • 1 c. 2% Chobani Greek yogurt
  • 1 sliced Gala apple
  • Chia seeds
  • Honey

Breakfast Tiiime

Since I was apparently feelin’ apple-happy this morning, I also ate a bag of Brothers-All-Natural apple crisps as I was preparing my snacks for the day.

Apple Crisps for My Lips

If an apple a day keeps the doctor away, I guess after eating this breakfast I don’t have to visit my doctor for at least five years now. As someone who seriously hates needles, I think I would eat five (maybe 10) apples a day for the rest of my life if it meant never having to see the doctor again.

Yum.

Workout

Today’s workout was the usual Wednesday routine. I took a BodyPump class and followed it up with 20 minutes on the elliptical. For some reason I walked to the gym feeling extra happy this morning. I think it was because I was wearing my Bride to Be sports bra. It just makes me smile… even though I’m now a Bride Who Was. Sad. I miss wedding planning!

After gettin’ sweaty, I met up with my friend Merri to take Sadie on a 2.5 mile walk.

Boo!

Merri was in California last week for work and will be in New York this weekend, so I was happy to get some quality time with her before she jet sets around the country again! I also got to see her brand new bangs in person! She has movie star hair, so naturally they look great on her. I will be sure to post a picture of her new ‘do on the blog the next time we’re together and don’t look like death at 7 a.m. 🙂

Time for that work thang!

And Just for Fun…

  • Pick one: The doctor or the dentist?

I’d pick my dentist 10 times over. Not only has he filled 5,000 of my cavities without once causing me pain, he’s a looker to boot! That’s probably why I still drive two hours to visit him in St. Pete even though I now live in Orlando (for the pain-free service, not the good looks, naturally 😉 ).

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Is there a third choice since I dislike the doctor and the dentist? How about the masseuse? That is kinda, sorta medical right?

Dentist. Definitely. I got all 4 wisdom teeth out with only novacaine, and it didn’t hurt a bit. He’s great!! Also, can’t wait for that giveaway! I’ve always wanted to try chia seeds but haven’t ordered any yet.

In theory, I prefer the doctor, if only because I only go once versus twice a year for the dentist. It is so uncomfortable having someone pick at your gums and teeth for an hour.

However, my family and I have been going to the same dentist for as long as I can remember. He and the technicians are basically family friends at this point, and we get to catch up during appointments. I don’t know my doctor very well, so if I’m thinking of it from that perspective, I’d pick my dentist.

I’m going with the doctor. I can’t stand the teeth scratching tool during teeth cleanings!

Also – when you say you use 1 c. Chobani yogurt, is that one container or is it truly 1 cup? I realized that two yogurt containers = 1 cup and I wanted to make sure my portions were correct.

yep! i use about one full cup. i often buy the really big containers of greek yogurt w/ multiple servings to save money, so i use about a cup from those.

Plus, I always treat myself to my favorite breakfast tacos after the dentist so I have something to look forward to!

Hey Julie, have you ever heard of Hemp Hearts? They are also full of omegas.. just Google them. They are pretty much flavorless, I sprinkle them in yogurt, salads, soups, anything really!

I pick my pediatric dentist! He was awesome and let us shoot the water sprayer into his mouth, had video games, and cool prizes. My mom always had to schedule extra long visits for us:)

Doctor! I hate going to the dentist – everyone’s nice, I just hate the smell, and the scraping/working on my teeth.

I also have a hot dentist. My husband and I go to the same one, and he always rolls his eyes when I talk about how dreamy the dentist is 🙂

Definitely the dentist! He’s a good friend of mine, the staff is always super friendly, and I’m usually in and out in no time! I’ve yet to find a good doctor in my town since I don’t really get sick that often, but the last one I went to, I waited FOREVER!! I actually thought they’d forgotten about me!
