Bed Time Survey

August 5, 2011 by Julie 93 Comments

Holy greasy eggs for breakfast!

scrambled eggs with bacon and sausage 005

The scrambled eggs at the hotel’s breakfast buffet were practically swimming in grease this morning.

I’m sure the cheese, bacon and sausage pieces in the mix added to the greasiness, but they also added to the flavor.

Greasy eggs never hurt anyone (directly, anyway), so I wolfed mine down with a piece of buttered whole wheat toast and a side of hash browns.

I forgot how delicious plain toast with butter tastes. Sometimes the simplest parts of a meal are the standouts.

Bed Time Survey

Apparently my friends and I are still in middle school because we still enjoy sending chain emails with surveys to each other every now and then. The most recent survey had a bed time theme. My answers are below.

Feel free to weigh in on the fun yourself in the comment section!

  • How many hours of sleep do you get each night? 7 – 8 hours.
  • What time do you usually go to bed? A little after 10 p.m.
  • What time do you get up during the workweek? Between 5 and 6 a.m.
  • What do you wear to bed? Typically a t-shirt and girly boxer shorts, but lately I’ve been loving short, summery nighties.

nighties

  • What is the last thing you do before bed? Kiss Ryan goodnight.
  • Does coffee wake you up? I don’t think it makes me feel more awake, but it does make me chatty… and sometimes sweaty!
  • Does vodka put you to sleep? Vodka? No. It makes me happy. Rum? Yes. It’s like a horse tranquilizer for me.

drinks

  • How do you sleep: On your side, stomach or back? I start on my side, but wake up on my stomach or back.
  • Do you dream about real-life things or complete fantasies? Always real life things and people… and sometimes bloggers because I’m super creepy. Ryan’s dreams are like an action movie mixed with Harry Potter!
  • Ever had a reoccurring dream? Nope.
  • Which is worse: Being too hot or too cold in bed? Too hot. I get really frustrated if I am sweaty and overheated when I’m trying to go to sleep.
  • What size is your bed? Queen.

Auction Alert

In case you were hoping to win some of my peanut butter granola in last week’s auction, you have another chance to win some today! You may bid on a batch of my peanut butter granola in blog reader Megan’s online auction that is raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through Team in Training. Questions of the Morning

  • What do you wear to bed?
  • Does vodka make you sleepy?
  • Do you dream about real-life things or complete fantasies?

Bonus question:

  • Have you ever had a dream about a blogger?

I just literally LOL’d when I read “jeans” on your list of potential wear-to-bed options. If I were to picture my personal hell, it would include wearing jeans to bed. haha

I LOVE surveys – that might be what I miss about jr. high the most! That, along with the fact that I basically had zero real responsibilities.

Umm, I’m attending a birthday brunch on Sunday and I had a dream last night that Janae of Hungry Runner Girl was the hostess, not my actual real-life friend Cadran…creepy, much?

I sleep in the nude haha 🙂 Well sometimes I’ll have some undies on but other than that I hate rolling around and getting caught in my clothes.
I don’t drink, at all haha. So no rum/vodka for this girl here.
I dream about real life things with a little bit of fantasy in it haha. I have mixed dreams 🙂

I dream about meeting bloggers I talk to a lot all the time ha! I’ve seen their pics enough to know their face.

In this heat I’ve been wearing just loose shirts to bed, an occasional nightie…

Most alcohol makes me sleepy… that’s what you get when your friends insist on going out AFTER your bedtime… yeah, I’m 21 years old and I go to bed at 10:00 every night. Get at me.

I have horrible dreams almost nightly. I dream of the apocalypse all the time. Sometimes its fires, sometimes earthquakes and tornadoes of tar–yes, giant twists of tar attacking the world….I’m usually looking for people to be with when this is happening and I can never find or contact anyone. I can’t work my phone in my dreams…hmmm… I wake up feeling anxious and scared that everything is real.

I did however have a dream that someone bought my friends and I $11,000,000 worth of things including new cars, a mansion and pretty much everything I could ever ask for. It was awesome until I started freaking out that the anonymous person who had bought it was going to kill me… I have a serious fear of dying I guess… 🙁

I’ve dreamt about bloggers….super weird. I keep thinking it’d be less weird if I actually had a blog and people knew who I was but I refuse to make the commitment.

I think it’s the same place that Julie, er, a girl who’s blog I follow, likes to go to in Florida!!” lol
I looooved the pistachio fro yo, but sampled the red velvet cake, too. Definitely tastes like red velvet!!

Oh gosh, I’ve totally done the same thing! I once referred to my bloggers as friends…. totally creepy considering I don’t have my own blog – YET.

I’ve also dreamed about bloggers, but I think it’s because I catch up on my Reader before crashing at night, and y’all take such good photos! My dreams are vivid and intricate, and the nice photos set the stage far too well.

No blogger dreams yet, but the blog does sometimes make it in there. My dreams are crazy! I had this weird recurring dream as a child about a witch who ran up and down the hallway, sticking her head into my room yelling, “Where’s the super alarm clock?” Never figured that one out…

Every alcohol makes me happy, especially rum.
I dream about real things, anything from work to my husband and stepson to running.
I’ve never had a dream about a blogger, but have dreamt about blogging, does that count?

Like one of the posters above, all alcohol makes me sleepy. I also get red-faced. It’s because I lack an enzyme called acetaldehyde dehydrogenase so one of the byproducts of alcohol builds up in my system. This is most common in asians (I’m 1/2) and refered to as the ‘asian glow’. BUT, if I take anything with famotidine (i.e. pepcid ac) then it blocks the reaction, allowing me to drink more alcohol without turning red or getting a super fast heart rate. 🙂

I usually wear a t-shirt or lil nightgown. Unless I am cold. Then it’s pants, socks, and a sweatshirt.

Vodka makes me tired for about 3 hours, then I wake up and can’t fall back asleep.

I totally have these crazy dreams, I call them epic dreams, they are like movies while I am asleep. Some are realistic, some are me in the Hunger Games…

When I first started my blog I had a dream that you and Tina from Faith Fitness Fun were editing all of my tweets! It was so weird!

I’m right there with you on the girly boxer shorts with a tshirt or tank top. Those summer-y nighties are comfy and fun too.

I’m not a big vodka person, but when I have had it…I get hyper for about an hour, and then crash.

I have random dreams with random people doing random things. They hardly ever make sense! And nope, never a dream about a blogger…at least YET!

My family sometimes calls me “gerdie” (like an old lady) because when it’s too cold I wear just about EVERYTHING in my closet to bed. Socks, pants, a hoodie with the hood up (I’m a freak, I know). Generally I just sleep in boxer shorts and a tank.

Vodka makes me happy too 🙂 Yay Vodka!

Dreams: I dream very vividly and talk in my sleep. In fact, just last night I asked, “Hey…where do you think we should put the polka dotted chair?” The response I got was, “Are you asking me about a chair that isn’t real? Are you awake?” Embarrassing…;-)

Vodka doesn’t make me sleepy, but wine does! And I dream about things going on in my life all the time- I think it’s my subconscious’ way of working things out that I’m dealing with in real life! Sometimes it’s a good thing because I feel like it’s more resolved but sometimes I just want to go to sleep and dream of something in another world!

I used to go crazy for those chain emails. They are so fun! 🙂 I wear one of my manfriend’s old Abercrombie tees and boxer briefs to bed. Boxer briefs are like the most comfortable thing ever because they don’t hike up on your legs. I think Victoria’s Secret might sell a girly version which I need to check out! Vodka doesn’t make me sleepy but it does make me lose my filter a little bit. lol. I always dream about people who are actually in my life but most of the time it is really scary stuff that happens.

vodka does not make me sleepy..unless i have one drink and then sit on my bum and do nothing. i need dancing when i drink!

i dream about a mix of real life/fantasy. FYI: my husband is just like ryan…all of his dreams are jampacked with action and adventure! it’s no surprise he wakes up exhausted after having one of those dreams 😛 men are funny

oh my god totally forgot…. i TOTALLY had a dream about you and ryan once! it was so weird for me… [and now i’m sure you’re creeped out] it was right aroudn the time you guys were packing up to move, and i dreamt that we lived across the street from each other and you were having a garage sale. i walked over to see what you had, and there was a GORGEOUS mini grand piano, all wood, and two comfy oversize chairs. i wanted it SO BADLY because it would fit perfectly in the formal living area we have in our new house (that i am indeed looking for furniture for!). i told my hubby to walk over and look at it with me, and he wouldn’t let me buy it 🙁

then him and ryan started talking about gym equipment.

i went home sad because i wanted that mini piano more than anything.

..so yah. sorry for being a dream-creeper, lol.

When I’m alone, I sleep in shorts and a t-shirt. When my husband is home, ah, it’s nothing. And I prefer being chilly when I sleep. More excuse to cuddle! 🙂

I always have recurring dreams. A little annoying sometimes. Can’t a girl get some variety. Actually when they repeat themselves it usually mean I’m stressing about something. I find it hard but not impossible to control my actions in my dreams. How about you?
