NTC Does It Again

January 30, 2014 by Julie 42 Comments

Good afternoon, my friends!

How is your Thursday going? Only one more day until the weekend! That has to make you feel better, right?

Breakfast

My Thursday began with scrambled eggs and a banana that I ate while typing up my morning blog post before work.

Then I was out the door and off to the gym to work, teach and workout! Teaching today went well and I was happy to see four or five new faces.

I didn’t have time to take the Zumba class I planned to this morning, but did manage to sneak in a quick and sweaty Nike Training Club (NTC) workout. I completed the 30-minute advanced Metabolic Boost workout created by Sonja Moses. My face was pouring sweat by the end of it and I can assure you this will be a workout I revisit in the future. It was fast-paced and challenging without being the least bit boring. NTC does it again!

Lunch

I worked through the morning before it was time for a brief breather. I headed home for a late lunch and put together a salad with chicken, pecans, baked beans and light ranch dressing.

Plus two clementines on the side!

Now I have to head back into work. Tonight we have the final meeting of our LiveSTRONG group (we extended the 12-week program by three weeks) and I’m excited to test our participants and see their progress!

See ya tomorrow!

P.S. FYI, if you are interested in trying out the Blue Apron meals I’ve been loving lately, blog readers Meghan and Wendy gave me a head’s up about a good deal this morning. If you sign up for Gilt Groupe (<—affiliate link!) and then download the Gilt app, sign in and click on the “City” tab, you will find a coupon for 50 percent off three of their traditional or vegetarian meals for two! I couldn’t find a way to get this offer on their normal website, so I think you do need to download the app, which I know is a bit of a pain, but I wanted to spread the word in case any of you wanted to try Blue Apron for half price!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I’ve said it before but i really need to get onto trying the NTC app again. That chicken salad you had for lunch looked delicious!

Sounds like you had a tough but fun workout today.

I can’t tell you how excited I am for the weekend but here it is already Friday so I am possible even more excited.

Hi Julie! I have a question about how you use NTC. I have it downloaded on my phone too, but I never know what to do with my phone while I’m actually doing the workout. How do I know when to look at it or when to switch moves? Do you have your headphones plugged into it?
Thanks for your advice! I really want to start doing these workouts, but I just seem to have a hard time figuring out HOW 🙂

I prop it up against my jacket in the gym and just stay really close to it so I can see it! Since they preview the exercise that is coming I try to look at both the exercise that is up and the next one to come so I can get prepared. I know that’s probably not a huge help to you! Wish I had better advice!

No that’s great advice! It’s better than me just trying to hold it the whole time 🙂 Thanks for your help!

We’ve been loving egg scrambles lately! Last night for dinner we had a ‘sweep the floor’ scramble where we pretty much cleaned out our fridge and thru it all in our eggs! Only good stuff of course 🙂 Eggs are so good for you!

I’ve said it before, but I am so impressed by you being able to complete a whole 30 minute NTC workout. I’m pooped after 15 minutes! 😉

I honestly think a lot of their 15 minute workouts are harder than the 30 minute ones!

When you do the NTC workouts, is that all you do for the day? Is that enough? Or do you feel like you need more of a workout?

Sometimes I will do two back-to-back if they are the15 minute workouts, but the 45 minute workouts definitely feel like enough! I will still take time to warm up usually before a workout though!

This is random but when you do these nike training app workouts and even just your cardio circuits what area of your gym is a good place to do them? The gyms at my school just have an area for abs/stretching and then weights and a track (besides all the machines) so I can’t find a good place to do my own thing! Let me know if you have any recommendations! Thanks!

My gym has a free space that’s meant for functional training. I will just grab my dumbbells, a mat and any other exercise equipment I need for my workouts and set up a little station there. 🙂

I downloaded the NTC app a while back and will have to try one of these workouts soon. My lunch was very similar to yours except I added avocado, bed bell peppers and few pieces of fresh mozzarella .
Will look into the 50% off deal for the Blue Apron Meals. They look great!
