Christmas Perk: Mocha Mint

November 12, 2014 by Julie 77 Comments

Good (early) afternoon! I hope things are going well for you so far today!

My morning was a little rushed since I wanted to squeeze in a 6 a.m. Pure Barre class and still have time to shower, let Sadie out and inhale breakfast before arriving at work at 7:45 a.m.

It was a go, go, go kind of morning and I was grateful for an easy breakfast that included a bowl of my egg white oatmeal and a mug of hot coffee.

After work yesterday, I attempted to find a replacement for my beloved discontinued peppermint crème coffee from Fresh Market. I popped into Marshalls since a few of you suggested combing through the gourmet foods section of Marshalls or TJMaxx in search of seasonal flavored coffee. I stumbled upon Christmas Perk: Mocha Mint coffee and decided to give it a go!

Christmas Perk Mocha Mint Coffee (Paramount Coffee)

I wasn’t sure how the mocha flavor would taste since I really, really love the stand-alone peppermint flavor of the peppermint crème coffee, but I was pleased! I’ve had chocolate flavored coffees before that have tasted bitter and gross, but this one was quite good and I loved it with a splash of new-to-me So Delicious coconut milk creamer (<— another recommendation from you guys)!

I’m still planning to check out some of your other peppermint flavored coffee recommendations and will be sure to report back. I’m glad there are a few of you out there who share my adoration for yummy holiday-themed flavored coffee!

After breakfast, I worked through the morning and helped my boss at the gym with the December group exercise schedule. I’ll be teaching more classes next month and I’m especially excited to be adding an additional indoor cycling class to my morning schedule… even if it is a 6 a.m. class!

I’m home now on a brief early lunchtime break and will be heading out again soon. I’m planning to use this time to put together my next rockin’ playlist for tomorrow’s spin class. I’d love to hear any recommendations you may have for songs that never fail to psych you up during an indoor cycling class!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

YUM!!! I love peppermint mocha anything. I might have to swing by T.J.’s to see if they have this 🙂
As for spin songs, Cracks (Flux Pavilion Remix) and Killin’ It by Krewella are always good ones.

Do you use coffee grinds in your Keurig? We have one of those reusable pods, but every time I use it, loose grounds end up in my mug. I would love to take a break from K-Cups. Is their a technique I am missing?!

I use grinds in my Keurig and the one at work. I have tried several different kinds of reusable k-cup devices and the best one by far is this brand I picked up at walmart. No leaking, and no coffee grinds in my cuppa. Do be sure you are not over filling it. There should be about a quarter inch of space left. This brand actually has a line to fill to. Hope this helps. http://www.walmart.com/ip/35438038?wmlspartner=wlpa&adid=22222222227024104291&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=40345668992&wl4=&wl5=pla&wl6=78311324072&veh=sem

The other thing I discovered that helps is grinding the coffee more coarsely – that way the grinds don’t go through as easily. Hope it works for you!

When I was teaching spin classes, everyone always loved “300 Violin Orchestra” and “Protectors of the Earth” for climbs. “Warrior’s Call” by Volbeat is a great one for sprints (30 seconds on, 30 seconds off). Even talking about it is making me miss teaching!! : )

When I was going to spin class a lot last year, I always loved when the instructors would play Bsckstreet Boys and N*Sync! 🙂

    Woman’s World – Cher
    Fireball – Pitbull

For slower songs—I personally like songs by Scissor Sisters – Any Which Way, I Don’t Feel Like Dancing, Take your Mama (some of them are slower, but I love their funky beats)

Yes, I like a FEW cheesy songs. lol. I love me some 80’s music.

Oh I love peppermint mocha coffee – dunkin donuts usually has a blend, but this sounds fantastic!

I need to try that creamer! I’m sensitive to dairy and my boyfriend is allergic to nuts. We both love coconut so I’ll have to give this a try!

As an alternative to your peppermint coffee, you can always add a pump of peppermint syrup to regular coffee! And as a bonus, Starbucks sugarfree peppermint syrup is currently on sale on their website.
