I am actually typing up this blog post over the weekend because I know my week will be a little crazy thanks to my NYC travels. (I hope to share a recap of my trip on Thursday.) I still wanted to keep things fresh on the ol’ blog and share something with you today though, so I must thank Kristin for bringing the fun Currently survey that’s been floating around the blog world for years to the forefront of my mind.

Frittatas. You guys probably already know this by now, but I’ve been on a HUGE frittata kick for months. I make a frittata or egg muffins almost every Sunday night for an easy reheat-and-eat breakfast during the week.

Reuniting with all of my best friends from college at the end of the month! We are getting together in Clearwater, Florida to celebrate my friend Leah’s son Theo’s first birthday! (Theo was in Leah’s belly in the above pic… And Chase was in mine, but I was only around 14 weeks pregnant at the time!) I cannot wait to celebrate such a special little boy and get Theo and Chase together for the first time. I’m counting down the days!

Adele’s latest album. You guys, I just can’t stop. Every time I take her CD out of our kitchen CD player (yes, we still own a CD player), I find myself missing Adele. So I put the CD back in again. Ryan thinks her whole CD is wildly depressing but I think he’s wildly wrong. It’s perfect.

Ben & Jerry’s Oatmeal Cookie Chunk ice cream. Oh how I wish the people over at Ben & Jerry’s would bring my favorite ice cream flavor EVER back from the Ice Cream Flavor Graveyard.
And just because I’m a psycho about this flavor, I actually did some research a while ago to try to figure out WHY Ben & Jerry’s would get rid of such a phenomenal flavor and apparently the supplier who used to make the cookies in oatmeal cookie chunk stopped making them and they couldn’t find oatmeal cookies delicious enough to replace them, so the flavor was discontinued. I kind of wish they would let me go on an oatmeal cookie tasting spree for them to find a proper oatmeal cookie replacement. I think I am up to the challenge.

A pair of peep-toe wedge booties. I found the exact pair I wanted three different places (White Plum + Nordstrom + Amazon), but they were ALL sold out of my size, so now I’m on the hunt! I also really like the above pair that I found on Pinterest, but there is NO image source and I have no idea how to find them! So, if you happen to see a pair of peep-toe nude booties that look like either of the ones pictured above, please let me know.

Being a mom. Cheesy but true. And also awesome since I had a lot of anxiety surrounding whether or not I’d honestly enjoy being a mother since I’ve never been a huge baby person. I never really saw myself loving all the baby stuff as much as I have, but oh my goodness Chase has flipped my whole world upside down for the better. I’m a hot mess, I forget things left and right and I have basically zero time to myself, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Better Than Before by Gretchen Rubin. I love the way Gretchen’s books encourage me to think and become more self aware. I’m not too far into this one – only about a third of the way through – but I am really enjoying the way Gretchen focuses on habits as a way to foster happiness in our lives. (For those who have read it, I am totally an “Obliger.”)

The Bachelor is the only show I’m currently watching, though Ryan and I are hoping to start the latest season of House of Cards soon! I think Ben and Lauren B. are adorable together and seem very compatible. I’m also beginning to wonder who they will pick for the next Bachelorette. I feel like Caila must be in the running since she was in the top three but there’s something about her that seems forced and almost Britt-ish to me. (Britt as in Britt from Farmer Chris’ season of The Bachelor.) I can’t put my finger on it, but I’m hoping they go in another direction… Maybe one of the final two? Bachelor fans, who do you think Ben is going to choose? Who do you want to be the next Bachelorette?

I told my fiance the EXACT same thing about Caila last night!! Something just isn’t right, almost like she is acting/putting on a show, super similarly to Britt. It cracked me up when I read your thoughts and they were almost word for word what I said! If she’s the next bachelorette, I might just have to take a season off form watching.
Do you recommend any first time mom books? One that will help me prepare for the arrival of baby, and baby boy’s first year? I enjoy reading, but I really only want to read something recommend by others!

Oatmeal Cookie Chunk will always be the BEST FLAVOR EVER. Totally on board for the oatmeal cookie challenge – I’ll taste test as many as I need to bring back that flavor. Seems like a worthy sacrifice 🙂
I totally agree about Caila! She’s sweet but I don’t know…I’d much rather it be one of the final two or Amanda. I had to laugh about the avoiding the taxes (haha! so me!) and desperately needing a pedicure/haircut as well. Also, have you listened to Gretchen Rubin’s happier podcast? If not, it’s definitely worth checking out!
I think Lauren B. will win, and I wish Becca Tilly would be bachelorette! Caila is boring, jo jo would be fun!
Interesting! You’re the first person I’ve heard to compare Caila to Britt. I like Caila a lot more than I liked Britt, but some of her interviews made me pretty side-eye-y (like when she’d talk about how she was so convinced she was going to marry Ben. Like, sweetheart. Slow your roll. Ditto that with Olivia, though there were plenty of other issues I had with her, too.). I think Caila’s a shoe-in for the Bachelorette, and I will be FLOORED if Lauren B. doesn’t end up with Ben. I honestly can’t believe JoJo made it this far – I never felt like she and Ben were the same as Lauren and Ben. Super excited to find out what happens on Monday!
Can’t wait for the season finale of The Bachelor — hope he picks Lauren!

Re: The Bachelor, I totally think he’s going to pick Lauren and can’t help but feel that the producers made him say I love you to JoJo after he said it to Lauren (otherwise their season would have been ruined!). Also heard that Caila is going to be next Bachelorette… not sure if that’s true or not. I kind of hope she’s not… PS Love those shoes!!! Hopefully you find them.

Unfortunately, they announced on the women tell all that Caila will be the next bachelorette. I’m disappointed because she seems a little fake to me. I was really hoping it’d be Jojo and that Ben chooses Lauren. Oh well, I’m sure there will be plenty of drama with the group of guys next season.
I am currently wanting to go on vacation too! I just booked NOLA for May and Croatia for July. Can’t wait!

There was announcement that Caila would be the next Bachelorette! I personally think she’s extremely boring. I am also over Becca at this point too. I think JoJo would be an excellent Bachelorette if she doesn’t win!
Also, although i’m single/not thinking about being a mom anytime soon, your comment about not feeling “mom-like” really makes me feel so much better about not feeling like i’d be a good mom or wife. I am waiting for the feeling to kick in so it’s great to know i’m not alone in feeling that way…

My co-worker told me that Caila is the next Bachelorette! Hmmm.. But it could always be just a rumor! I know what you mean about her seeming a little “forced”. I think she still seems a little bit young and unsure of what she’s looking for. Then again– there’s only so much we can learn about someone from a show like that. Hah! 🙂
