Confession: When I first gave birth to Chase, I was overwhelmed by the possibility of grocery shopping and running errands with a new baby. I began researching local grocery pick-up and delivery services to utilize and figured that unless we planned all of our errands and grocery trips on the weekend when Ryan was off work, a pick-up service would be the only way I could possibly handle shopping for the food and weekly necessities I might need with a newborn baby in the mix. (Looking back, I clearly had “first time mom” written all over me, right!?)
I was obviously overwhelmed and started to wonder how people handled shopping with a newborn. Do you hold your baby? Wrap them up in a baby carrier? Bring in the car seat? How does this work!?
I went the car seat route for a couple of months and placed the whole car seat into the grocery cart, surrounding Chase with bread, eggs, vegetables, fruit and other groceries more times than I can count.
There were a handful of times I had to lug the heavy car seat into the grocery store or a convenience store for one or two things I absolutely needed and that was such a pain. I didn’t want to pay the $5 fee that our local grocery store charged for curbside delivery when I was only picking up a couple of things, so off we went, giant car seat in tow.
A month or so ago, I got an email from my friends at CVS informing me about their new CVS Curbside Pickup service launching in Atlanta, San Francisco and Charlotte. What immediately caught my attention was that the curbside pickup service is absolutely FREE. There are no minimums, no up charges and no fees whatsoever. HECK YES!
Since we live less than two miles from CVS, I pop into our local CVS regularly for odds and ends like razors, nail polish remover, healthy snacks, birthday cards, makeup, etc. After testing out CVS Curbside Pickup one time, I became an instant fan and have used it a handful of times since and am continually impressed. It’s so handy for me since loading and unloading a baby isn’t exactly a fast process, so anything that lets me pick up something without getting out of my car (and unloading Chase) is a serious WIN. (I am still waiting for all Starbucks’ to have drive-through options, but a girl can dream…)
To use CVS Curbside Pickup, you simply select the items you need from thousands of non-prescription items through either the CVS app or website and pick them up at CVS within an hour. The coolest part of the pick up service to me was the location tracking that you can turn on to notify CVS that you are arriving, so they walk out within seconds with your order. (I have never waited more than 30 seconds for my order!)
The service saved us a handful of times and the convenience cannot be beat. Ryan and I have placed CVS Curbside Pickup orders from our boat on the lake so we could quickly pick up items we needed on our way home with Sadie in the car. I used the service last Friday night to pick up one item – a poster board for less than $2 – that I needed for Laurel’s birthday surprise on Saturday. There have been a few times when I’ve placed a CVS Curbside Pickup order right before I leave for the gym so I can quickly swing by and have it delivered to my car on our way home, less than an hour later. (I have legitimately ordered a jar of peanut butter to have brought out to me. Can’t stop, won’t stop.)
I think my friends in the Atlanta, San Francisco and Charlotte areas will love this service as much as I do and I’m happy to be able to share a $10 promo code and giveaway with you guys today!

All PBF readers who live in the Charlotte, San Francisco or Atlanta area can use the code 10CVSCURBSIDE to receive $10 off your first curbside pickup order, no minimum purchase required!

CVS curbside sounds great. If only I was closer to one of the areas listed. Do they accept coupons or extra buck reward dollars? My local grocery store delivers to your house, but you can’t use coupons (they charge you too) and I feel weird about someone else picking out my produce and other items (I’ve actually discovered items past their expiration dates on shelves….not fun).

This sounds great, ’cause I’m lazy. Haha. But I love to treat myself to new nail polishes & give myself a DIY manicure // pedicure. So I would love to splurge on some new colors + snacks (obviously) for when my nails are drying!

I always go to CVS for medicine and vitamins!

OMG I hope they bring this option to Jacksonville SOON!
I avoid a majority of my shopping these days until the weekend for the same reasons as you. Even with having a method for getting in and out quickly, shopping is just too much of a choir.
I would be getting everything from shampoo and conditioner to snacks and such if they offered this here.
Margaux says
This is so timely–I literally ran out of contact solution this morning and was planning to swing by CVS on my way home. Instead of having to park and find what I want in-store, I got $10 off and I’ll get to have it delivered to my car as soon as I pull up (!!). This is so freakin cool!
Lisa McGeen says
Oh I wish had it in Michigan where I live!
Kimberly @ Healthy Strides says
Ugh. I hate lugging the kids in to the store for just a couple things. I’d pick up milk, toothpaste – the things that we run out of at the most inconvenient times.
Jessica H says
I wish they had it in my area but I am for sure going to tell everyone I know! I was just at CVS this week for cotton balls and allergy medicine and the line was so long! I almost left but the idea of fighting pollen alone was too scary to abandon the line haha
Nicole Boyd says
If CVS curbside pickup was in my area, I would love to pick up sunscreen, and nail polish!
Cait says
I hope curbside pickup comes to Pennsylvania! I’m always running out of shaving cream, so I would probably get that along with the usual items we buy at CVS….. Snacks, wipes, diapers, laundry detergent, and vitamins.
Erin says
Well, this definitely is not applicable in NYC since we walk everywhere but seems like a good deal for those who drive! Would still love that giftcard though! 🙂
