Incredibly Easy Black Bean Dip

Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe

A flavorful dip packed with black beans and corn, this Incredibly Easy Black Bean Dip is a crowd pleaser and the perfect dip for your next party. It comes together in a flash and prepping it ahead of time will help you check one more thing off your pre-party to-do list! Thank you to BJ’s Wholesale for sponsoring this post!

Easy Black Bean Dip

If you’re looking for a dip to make for a Super Bowl party on Sunday, I’ve got you covered. If you’re looking for a dip to make that is ridiculously easy, I’ve got you covered. If you’re looking for a dip you can throw together the day before a party so you can check one more thing off your list, I’ve got you covered. Basically, what I’m saying is I’ve got you covered with this Incredibly Easy Black Bean Dip!

Easy Black Bean Dip

This black bean dip is a family favorite from my mom’s side of the family. I have my Aunt Laurie to thank for being the brains behind some of the most crowd-pleasing recipes I’ve shared on the blog — I’m looking at you shrimp dip and crustless vegetable quiche — and this is another one of her slam dunk creations. It’s a dip she makes for almost every family party and it’s a dip that always disappears FAST.

Easy Black Bean Dip

To make this black bean dip, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • Black beans
  • Corn
  • Red bell pepper
  • Red onion
  • Cilantro
  • Ranch dressing
  • Italian dressing
  • Greek yogurt
  • Spices: Garlic powder, chili powder, black pepper

My mouth is watering just thinking of stirring all of those yummy ingredients together!

Easy Black Bean Dip

Perhaps the most important thing to keep in mind when making this dip is to prep it the day before you’re planning to serve it to give the flavors time to develop. It’s kind of like soup or chili in that way — the more time it has for all of the ingredients to create their magic and work together, the more delicious the dip will be in the end!

(Shout out to Chase for being my hand model in the above picture! So much easier than trying to snap a pic with one hand while my other hand is shaking. Haha!)

As for serving the dip, I am a big fan of crispy blue corn tortilla chips, scoops (for maximum dippage — is that a word?) or even large slices of crispy cucumber. I grabbed everything I needed to make this dip, including my favorite Wellsley Farms organic blue tortilla chips, from BJ’s Wholesale Club. It’s a great one-stop shop for party essentials since you can find everything you need to host a big gang from bulk bags of favorite snacks and easy-to-heat appetizers to lots of wine, beer and beverage options and even serving platters and slow cookers!

Easy Black Bean Dip

If you  give this dip a try for a Super Bowl party this weekend or for a fun get-together in the future, I’d love to hear what you think! It’s a huge hit in our family and I have a feeling it will be with you and your friends and family, too!

Description

A flavorful dip packed with black beans and corn, this Incredibly Easy Black Bean Dip is a crowd pleaser and the perfect dip for your next party.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 15.5-ounce can black beans
  • 1 3/4 cups frozen sweet corn
  • 1/2 red onion, very finely diced
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, very finely diced
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1/4 cup Italian dressing
  • 1–2 tablespoons Greek yogurt (depending on desired thickness)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 large bunch of cilantro, chopped

Instructions

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. (Reserve some of the cilantro for garnish.) Stir together, cover in an airtight container and refrigerate overnight to give the flavors time to develop. Note: The dip may be served immediately but it definitely tastes better the next day!

Pour dip into a serving bowl, top with additional cilantro and serve with crispy tortilla chips. Enjoy!

I just signed up to bring an app to a friend’s house on Sunday so this is perfect! I actually made your aunt’s shrimp dip before, too. Thanks!

I have everything to make this recipe now except Greek yogurt. Do you think I could use full fat sour cream instead?
