Green = Go!

green smoothie

An energizing green smoothie to start the day!

protein smoothie with spinach

Into the blender went:

  • 1 frozen banana
  • Frozen mango
  • 1 cup strawberry Greek yogurt
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 2 handfuls fresh spinach
  • Enough almond milk to get everything moving

Plus some fresh raspberries straight out of the container and a handful of nuts on the side.

The Secret Keeper Update

Last night I finally started to get into The Secret Keeper.

The Secret Keeper

I’ve been slowly plugging away at the novel, reading about 20 pages at a time, but the story finally hooked me in last night and I read until I couldn’t keep my eyes open anymore.

Truth be told, I was hoping The Fault in Our Stars would win as this month’s book club selection. (The book I’ve wanted to win for our PBF book club has actually only one two or three times so far.) The Secret Keeper got off to a slow start for me, but now that I’m 200 pages in, I am completely immersed in the story.

Now I’m planning to spend the morning reviewing a whole bunch of notecards for my NASM exam before heading out for yet another BodyPump class around lunchtime. It has been so nice to have the class back in my life again, even if it is short lived!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

You should still read The Fault in Our Stars, it was one of the best books I’ve read in the last year! Maybe keep putting it in the running until people get the hint? 😉

The only time I’ve ever actually tasted the spinach was when my blender was on the fritz and it didn’t blend all the way. Otherwise, I don’t think you can taste it.

I am reading The Fault in Our Stars right now and it is WONDERFUL! I love the way John Greene writes the narrative of the characters. I highly recommend it when you are done with this book! Also, these are a little different but I’ve heard great things:
    1. “The Pillars of the Earth” and “World Without End”- Ken Follett
    2. “The Blue Zone”- different but examines and seeks the 4 healthiest societies in the world and looks at what they have in common.. really interesting!

I love green smoothies! Especially with mango : ) I love salads but they don’t excite me as much in the winter so green smoothies are totally the way to go. I have seen this book on a few other blog sites. I’ll have to check it out for when I finish the perks of being a wallflower.

Julie, you should definitely read The Fault in Our Stars anyway! Anything by John Green is amazing. You’ll be hooked, for sure, once you pick it up. 🙂

I’m a little behind on this one, but I just got back from a trip… before I left I ran into the library and saw The Secret Keeper sitting out on a display and grabbed it to bring along on vacation without knowing anything about it. I hadn’t realized it was the book this month! I agree- a little slow going in the beginning- but I’ve finished it and was really pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it!

This is my first time participating in your Book Club and I just finished reading The Secret Keeper tonight. For those of you that feel it is a little slow to begin with, hang in there because it turns out to be a great story. There are so many great twists and I spent many wee hours in the morning reading it. I truly enjoyed the book right up to the last page and I am so glad that I read it. Now I just need to get a review posted on my blog. :0)
