Refreshing Green Smoothie

April 10, 2018 by Julie 25 Comments

This refreshing green smoothie recipe is the perfect spring or summertime pick-me-up. Packed with vegetables, fruit and fresh mint, it’s naturally energizing and a great go-to snack! At 30 weeks pregnant, I feel like I’m finally back in a place where I can stomach vegetables waaay better than I could even a month or so…

Boarding the Healthy Train

After a weekend on the road, it feels good to be home. It was wonderful to spend time with my family and such a treat to see some snow in Gettysburg! But now I’m back and ready to begin another work week! Since healthy eating and fitness fell to the wayside during our road trip,…

My Go-To Green Smoothie

Green Smoothie - No Juicer Required

Today is flyin’ by! I am home right now on a quick break from work, but I’ll be heading back soon and am excited to meet with my LiveSTRONG group again this evening. I ate lunch at work, but when I arrived home I was in the mood for a snack and decided to make…

Ginger Winner

ginger root

I love ginger. And no, I’m not pregnant. Every time I blog about something with ginger in it, the pregnancy rumors start a-flyin’! For as much as I love ginger, I don’t think I’ve ever used ginger root! I gravitate toward ground ginger because it’s always available in the spice rack in our pantry. I’m…

Alarm Music

May 15, 2013 by Julie 84 Comments

Ham Corn Sautee

On Sunday my mother-in-law and I joked about using the song “Oh Happy Day” as our morning alarm. It is impossible to wake up in a bad mood when that song is blaring! I probably should have used that song as my alarm today because when 4:20 a.m. rolled around and I was greeted with…

Kale Smoothie

May 8, 2013 by Julie 60 Comments

green lemonade smoothie

I’m no stranger to green smoothies, but I always make them with spinach. I’ve never tried using kale in my smoothies, but after seeing Brittany’s recipe for a green lemonade smoothie, I knew it was time to give it a go. I was immediately intrigued when I saw that her recipe just required a blender…

Instagram post 2191873802065169562_40044681 Slow Cooker Holiday Mulled Wine: The simple, low-maintenance, crowd-pleasing holiday beverage you've been looking for to make for your next holiday party! 🍷✨ This is my go-to recipe because it's warm and comforting and just sweet and cinnamon-y enough to feel like a festive holiday drink. ⠀
⠀
Here are the steps:⠀
⠀
Throw everything into a slow cooker⠀
Allow mulled wine to warm up on “low” for an hour⠀
Reduce to “warm” and top with a sprinkle of thinly-sliced oranges and cranberries⠀
Walk away and enjoy your party⠀
⠀
And the ingredient list is simple, too! Find the full recipe on the blog here: https://www.pbfingers.com/slow-cooker-holiday-mulled-wine/⠀
⠀
Oh and please do not feel the need to splurge on an expensive red wine for this recipe! I once had a sommelier friend of mine tell me that when it comes to making mulled wine, simply choose a red wine you like to drink. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy but it simply has to appeal to you without all of the added ingredients that morph it into a deliciously sweet holiday favorite. For this batch, I made the Slow Cooker Holiday Mulled Wine with a $6.99 bottle of Wellsley Farms’ Cabernet Sauvignon from @bjswholesale. Once you pour it into the slow cooker and fancy it up with thinly-sliced oranges 🍊 and pops of cranberry, no one will know you used a bottle of wine that cost less than $7 in the recipe anyway! Enjoy!!! #ad #mulledwine #holidaydrinks #holidayrecipes #slowcooker

Instagram post 2188654049733389965_40044681 I know you don’t get to choose your family but if you did, I’d choose this bunch over and over again. 💚 Another great family mountain vacation in the books! 🍁🍂
