Footie Pajamas

May 1, 2013 by Julie 120 Comments

While I was away on vacation last week, I turned 28! My birthday was on Saturday, but since we were traveling, Ryan saved my gifts for me to open at home when we returned from our trip.

Last night was birthday celebration night in our house!

Check out one of my snazzy gifts:

Polka Dot Footie Pajamas Onsie

Pretty sweet, huh!?

Though this may seem like a rather random gift, there’s actually a story behind the pajamas.

When we were in Ireland last March, it was freezing and one night when we were outside walking around, I said, “All I want to do is cuddle up in a pair of ridiculously warm pajamas.”

“The kind with the feet?” Ryan asked.

“YES!” I said. We then went on a mission to find footie pajamas and searched in a handful of department stores with no luck.

Obviously I was pretty darn excited to get a pair of footie pajamas for my birthday… Just in time for summer in Florida. Ha!

Workout

Today’s workout began on the elliptical before I headed into the weight room to complete Workout B from Tina’s Best Body Boot Camp. It felt good to make my muscles burn a bit!

Breakfast

After my time at the gym, I headed home and made myself a breakfast sandwich with eggs, cheese, strawberry jelly and Ezekiel toast.

IMG_0970

Sweet and savory! I love it!

Now I’m off to work. I am working late today, so I don’t think I’ll have a chance to blog after (or during) lunch, but I’m not sure how lunch breaks work just yet, so we shall see!

Question of the Afternoon

  • What is the strangest gift you’ve ever received?

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Happy belated birthday! When I turned 16, two of my friends thought it’d be funny to get me a pair of little girl Dora the Explorer sandals, which was easily the weirdest gift I’ve ever received for my birthday!

My mom gave me a scale for my birthday a couple years back. I thought she was trying to tell me I was fat, but in reality we needed one and Kohl’s was having a sale. I look back on it now and have a good laugh….the unexpected gifts are the ones you remember.

I got a stove for my 26th birthday, which my husband bought for our house right before our wedding. 🙂 It was a convection oven and 5 burner cook top, so I was really excited!

I read that first sentence, “I got a stove”….and started laughing out loud. Seriously, that is so awesome and hilarious. I have never heard of a person getting a stove for their birthday. I mean, that’s really cool and so random!! I kind of want a new fridge, that’d be pretty sweet! Thanks for unintentionally making me laugh 🙂

Happy belated birthday! If I could save that picture of you in the pj’s as my background, I would…because it makes me smile!

My parents brought me back a reindeer skin/fur thing that you lay on the floor like a bear rug when they went on a trip one time. They also brought back a whale tooth from that same trip. 🙂

Probably a horse back riding lesson from my boyfriend last year! I’ve been begging him to take me horseback riding, I thought it would be really romantic on the beach, during the sunset. You know, the whole nine yards. Instead it was a vocal Russian lady yelling at us to get out butts up higher during out trots. It was still so fun, but funny looking back. Ha

The oddest / best gift ever was LASIK!! My mom got that for me last year! My birthday is May 7th and I actually tore my ACL last week and I am still on my parents insurance. My mom is giving me grief about all these birthday medical procedures. Trust me I would rather anything than a torn ACL for my bday this year!

Happy belated birthday! For my 10th wedding anniversary, I was the lucky recipient of Skecher roller skates. WT??? Needless to say, my husband isn’t the best at gift giving. We were newly married and for Christmas he got me long johns. I cried. But he said they were from Victoria Secrets. I thought he was telling me to cover up. 🙂 We are at 21 years married now, so I guess I it isn’t about the presents but the thought that counts.

My mom always gives the oddest gifts. One year, as an adult, she gave me a package of markers, a coloring book, and a pencil pouch. I actually still have, and use, the markers and pencil pouch. Not often but it does get used.
