Game of Threes

March 19, 2011 by Julie 80 Comments

Today has been quite a productive little Saturday!

Before lunch, Ryan and I leashed up Sadie for a walk around the lake near our apartment.

IMG_0106

Apparently the beautiful weather beckoned to a lot of people, because the path around Lake Eola was packed with people and dogs and, near the lake’s edge, bird poop.

Look at all that poooooo!

After our walk, we changed into our bathing suits and enjoyed the sun in our backyard while Sadie hunted lizards.

I get bored really easily when I’m just laying out, so I made Ryan play a little game with me that I made up called the “game of threes.”

First, someone names three somewhat similar foods, and then you have to put them in order of your preference, assuming each food named is prepared perfectly to your liking.

For example, I first posed these three food items: Ice cream, soft serve and milkshakes.

Ryan said ice cream was his winner, followed by milkshakes and soft serve. For me, soft serve takes the cake, followed by ice cream and then milkshakes.

It’s an oddly entertaining game and we played many rounds.

Other threes included:

  • Hamburgers, hot dogs or brats
  • Cookies, cake or brownies
  • Grilled cheese, peanut butter and jelly or fluffernutters
  • Beef, pork or chicken

Lunch

After about an hour, we came inside for lunch. My meal was a three-part meal comprised of a cup of strawberry banana Greek yogurt, a small bag of kettle corn and a melted Swiss cheese sandwich.

Once our bellies were satisfied, we hopped into Ryan’s car to run some errands. First, we dropped off some of his dry cleaning at the same place I needed to go to get a dress altered.

Then it was off to Goodwill to drop off some clothes, purses and other household items we no longer wanted.

IMG_0109

We also perused the store and I found an adorable belt for $1.99!

IMG_0110

Score!

I also can’t wait for the Fourth of July so I can wear my brand new skort!

IMG_0111

Just kidding. Smile

Once our errands were done, we came home and immediately headed back out separately. Ryan went to help his friend Dru move while I went to get a pedicure. Would you believe I haven’t painted my toenails since our wedding!?

Let’s just say I feel much better about my feet now.

Now it’s time to change! We have dinner plans with another couple tonight and I hear pizza is on the menu…

While I’m away, feel free to weigh in and play the game of threes:

  • Ice cream, soft serve or milkshakes?
  • Cake, cookies or brownies?

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I agree with you — soft serve, ice cream, milk shakes! NOTHING beats a cone of soft serve vanilla and chocolate ice cream 😀

I think I’d go cake, cookies, brownies BUT the last two could switch places based on my mood and errrr…time of month! 😉 hehe. Enjoy the pizza!

Hmm..ice cream, soft serve and milkshakes. I loooove homemade ice cream.

Cookies, cake and brownies for me. I’m really not a huge chocolate fan so the cookies would be peanut butter, the cake would be carrot and the brownies can be…cookie brownies! 😛

What an easy, fun game! And very popular, I see.
    My picks:
soft-serve, ice-cream, milkshakes (milkshakes lag far behind. I prefer to eat rather than drink my dessert)
    cookies, cake, brownies

    I choose:
soft-serve, ice cream, milkshakes. BUT frozen yogurt would definitely be first it it were a choice.

brownies (with ice cream!), cookies, cake. I only like the frosting on the cake…

I got married November 13, 2010 and haven’t painted mine since the wedding either…definitely need a pedicure before it’s officially sandal season.

Also, I have to tell you I have been skeptical of your bagel thin, cheese, and jam sandwiches but I tried one today (cinnamon raisin bagel thin, provolone, and blackberry jam) and it was SO GOOD. Thanks for the great idea! 🙂

I haven’t painted my toes in years! lol

Defniitely soft serve, ice cream and then milkshakes.

Brownies, cake, and then cookies. And in my ideal world they would have the same taste and texture as gluten-containing ones. Ok, so actually in an ideal world I wouldn’t be gluten-intolerant! 😉

I love shopping around at Goodwill — you can find some good stuff there. I also like finding things that I had donated weeks ago — no surprise they are still for sale!

How fun! I hope you do more of these! I’m with you: soft serve, ice cream, milkshakes. How about m&m’s: for me it’s peanut butter, peanut, then plain. Here’s another: crunchy, smooth pb? Me, I’d def pick crunchy. I buy extra crunchy pb!! What about you?

I’m glad you were kidding about that skort. LOL. That strawberry banana Chobani looks SO good, but I can’t find it here anywhere 🙁 Is there a specific store you buy it at? I know I can only find the black cherry flavor at one of the two stores I buy it from

    – My order is ice cream, milkshakes, soft serve
    – Brownies, cake, cookies
