Halloween Food

October 12, 2011 by Julie 74 Comments

Today’s barbeque lunch kept me awfully full for most of the afternoon. Apparently cleaning my plate and eating Ryan’s roll was more filling than I thought.

By the time dinner rolled around, I still wasn’t as hungry as I usually am and decided to make a lighter meal that included grilled teriyaki pork chops, served with a side of squash and onions, sautéed in olive oil.

teriyaki pork chops 005

I followed this meal up with a little baking and snacking, but you’ll have to wait until tomorrow for the recipe debut. It’s a good (and healthy!) one.

Hint: It reminds me a lot of this recipe, but scaled down a bit for one person.

Halloween Food

After dinner I spent entirely too much time browsing Pinterest and looking for fun and delicious Halloween goodies. I figured you guys might get a kick out of some of the amazingly creative creations I stumbled upon as well.

Check ‘em out!

AH! Candy Corn Pretzel Bark?? My god, that’s like magic. All of it. Magic. As a preschool teacher, you can bet your sweet candy corn behind, I’ll be putting this on my lesson plan to make with the kids next week! I love the simplicity of it! They’ll love to stir everything in and I’ll love digging into it during naptime! It’s a win-win!!

btw – found your blog after having a discussion about popular food blogs during a Boston Bloggers meetup last night. Glad they mentioned you!

Every year my family has a pumpkin carving and halloween food party. We all make different awesome Halloween recipes. It’s so much fun.

I went cute and made a little coffin cake, and my dad went yuck and made zombie barf out of refried beans! Yuck!

I prefer the cutsie Halloween food!

Such cute ideas I love it!!! I am going to have a baking marathon for all kinds of sweets before thanksgiving this year that are yummy and creative. I want to mix things up because we usually just get a couple of pies from a local orchard. I would love to make some halloween goodies but since I don’t have a family aka hubby and kids to gobble up all my treats, Ill end up eating everything myself which I definitely don’t need…1 candy corn cupcake = indulgence….15 candy corn cupcakes…fat bastard…
