Halloween Socks

October 31, 2012 by Julie 63 Comments

Happy Halloween!

Do you like one of my cotton-themed anniversary gifts from Ryan?

halloween socks

He knows I am a sucker for adorable socks and slippers, so these Halloween socks were right up my alley.

After I opened the socks, Ryan said he never actually checked to see if the socks were really cotton and we had to laugh when we saw that they are, in fact, 100 percent polyester. I’m gonna go ahead and say that our version of the usual cotton theme that is associated with a couples’ second wedding anniversary morphed into “anything remotely cotton-like.” I’m not sure if my gift to Ryan contains real cotton either, but it’s cottonish. Whatever works!

We are officially celebrating our anniversary on an upcoming weekend, so we’re saving our main anniversary gifts for our hot date night, but I’ll be sure to fill you guys in when I finally give him his cotton(ish)-themed gift since I really appreciated all of your help with brainstorming!

Workout + Breakfast

My workout this morning began with last week’s 25 minute elliptical interval workout followed by “Workout B” from Tina’s Best Body Boot Camp. It was a good one!

When Ryan and I arrived home from the gym, it was breakfast time and I made a batch of banana vanilla protein pancakes.

healthy pancakes

Topped with a bit of syrup!

I also had a cup of Godiva peppermint mocha coffee on the side.

Loving this flavor!

Question of the Morning

  • Did you dress up for Halloween this year?
  • What is the best Halloween costume you’ve seen recently?

I think the Pac Man family featured in this blog post is awesome!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Love those socks! Maybe they’ll have good themed ones for Thanksgiving & Christmas that I can get 🙂

I’m terrible at brainstorming creative costume ideas. And I tend to procrastinate. So I went as a marathon runner this year (pretty easy to assemble since I own running shoes and have bibs from other races) – efficency, I say!

Best costume I’ve seen was this guy that dressed up as Teen Wolf for a Halloween 5k I ran over the weekend. He actually glued fake fur all over his body – it was hilarious!

I dressed up as Mckayla Maroney, the Olympic gymnast that got silver on the vault and then made the “I’m not impressed face”. We have the same name (spelled differently) and I must say I’m pretty good at making the not impressed face. It was also the perfect costume because I got to wear sweats, sneakers, and my hair in a ponytail (with a scrunchie of course!) while going out. haha.

I dressed up as a Runaway Bride for our halloween 5K this past Sunday, that was a blast! Other than that, no costumes for me. My birthday was yesterday so the week tends to be more about my birthday than halloween for me. I did see a guy last night in a big bumble bee costume… The best part is he was alone waiting for the bus.

Love the socks! I’m gonna be a mummy and wrap myself in tp because I’m feeling too lazy to do anything else. The original plan was to be cloudy with a chance of rain… cotton ball clouds glued/pinned on a blue sweatsuit with a water bottle to “rain” on people… there is always next year! Happy Halloween!

I watch the Ellen show every day after work and last week she had kids on her show dressed in hilarious costumes. My favorite was one girl dressed as a beehive, then Ellen put a giant bandaid on her and she was “Honey Boo Boo”!!! Cracked me up. If I’d seen it earlier, I totally would have supported the awfulness that is HBB and made the costume somehow. Shameless, I know 🙂
