No Bake Oatmeal Nut Butter Balls

August 15, 2013 by Julie 118 Comments

Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe

This recipe for no bake oatmeal nut butter balls is simple and tasty! No food processor is required and the no bake oatmeal nut butter balls can easily be customized to include your favorite nut butter. Enjoy!

If you are anything like me, you are a big snacker. I’ve never been one to eat three big meals a day and have always gravitated toward lots of snacks.

And if you work out of the house or have a really active lifestyle, having something healthy and delicious that you can grab and eat on the go is even better.

So, inspired by the poppability of my oatmeal walnut date balls, I set out to make another perfectly poppable snack.

No Bake Oatmeal Nut Butter Balls

The great thing about this is that it doesn’t require the food processor — am I the only one who hates to clean it after cooking? — and it is full of healthy fats and filling fiber.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup ground flaxseed
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup almond butter
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons honey

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients together in a bowl. Stir together until everything is thoroughly combined.
  2. Roll dough into balls and refrigerate for one hour.

Notes

You can eat them right away, but I refrigerated them overnight so they maintained their shape a little better.

I have a similar no bake protein ball here: http://itsaharleyyylife.com/need-energy-what-about-protein-giveaway/

    I love them because you can just pop them in your mouth whenever and its not like eating a whole meal… {until I pop like 5 in my mouth at once haha}

I love making variations of these! I mixed in some dried cranberries and nuts in a batch I made Monday. Also, I decided to substitute nutmeg for the cinnamon, so yummy, made me think of fall and pumpkin pie!

YUM! I love little snacks like that. I really like making them with your own ingredients and not having to rely on store-bought granola bars that have extra ingredients that you probably don’t need. I also appreciate that this recipe doesn’t use a food processor!! I don’t have one! Obviously, I need to change that soon to make some date balls, but oh well. . .

I will definitely be making these! Great to keep in the fridge and grab and go. I am a college student (UCF, go knights!) and am always busy so I love snacks like this!!!

I made a similar batch earlier this summer for my family, and they were gone in a day! That’s mostly because my brother is a monster who eats everything he gets his hands on haha!
