No Bake Oatmeal Nut Butter Balls

This recipe for no bake oatmeal nut butter balls is simple and tasty! No food processor is required and the no bake oatmeal nut butter balls can easily be customized to include your favorite nut butter. Enjoy!

If you are anything like me, you are a big snacker. I’ve never been one to eat three big meals a day and have always gravitated toward lots of snacks.

And if you work out of the house or have a really active lifestyle, having something healthy and delicious that you can grab and eat on the go is even better.

So, inspired by the poppability of my oatmeal walnut date balls, I set out to make another perfectly poppable snack.

No Bake Oatmeal Nut Butter Balls

The great thing about this is that it doesn’t require the food processor — am I the only one who hates to clean it after cooking? — and it is full of healthy fats and filling fiber.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup ground flaxseed
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup almond butter
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons honey

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients together in a bowl. Stir together until everything is thoroughly combined.
  2. Roll dough into balls and refrigerate for one hour.

Notes

You can eat them right away, but I refrigerated them overnight so they maintained their shape a little better.

I just made some just like this last night. I used banana, chocolate protein powder, cocoa powder, oats and peanut butter. I call them my Chunky Monkey Energy Ballz. I love making them because you can make so many different kinds. Plus, they are no bake which is easier!

I’ve got everything to make the Oatmeal Nut Butter balls except for the flaxseed and the almond butter. Do you think it would taste okay if I omitted these?

    Thanks!!

The ground flaxseed acts like flour to bind it all together, so they might be a little sticky!

you could always take some of the oats and grind them to make ‘oat flour’ to mix in!

Women, be aware that flax lowers estrogen levels. I just gave my son a bagful to put in his protein drinks; he needs less testosterone boosters then. Serious bodybuilders use flax for this purpose.

I make these all the time without flaxseed and have never had a problem – you can also replace the almond butter with more peanut butter. After combining all the ingredients I throw the bowl in the fridge for 30 minutes before rolling it into balls, which helps keep it from getting sticky.

**You can also add mini chocolate chips, raisins, craisins, chopped nuts, etc… whatever floats your boat!!

I like to wait until my PB or Almond Butter jar is getting low and then toss my ingredients right into the jar, mix with a spoon and then scoop out and shape before putting in the fridge. It makes for a completely mess free, no cleaning required, snack!!!

Do people not use their dishwashers to clean their food processors? I use mine so often it’s almost always hogging up real estate in there.

Honey is made by bees. A lot of bees are exploited and killed by beekeepers (the exploiters) who steal their honey. Please stop using honey, there are other alternatives that don’t include stelaing and killing to other sentient beings.
