Return of Protein Pancakes

August 20, 2013 by Julie 104 Comments

This morning marked the return of protein pancakes!

I seem to fall in and out of love with various breakfasts and will repeat similar meals over and over again for an extended period of time until something else pops up and I eat that one over and over again. Lately I’ve been loving overnight oats and egg sandwiches. Before I was on a scrambled egg and smoothie kick!

This morning I woke up in the mood for something new. I broke out my immersion blender and rounded up all the ingredients I needed for protein pancakes.

Banana Bread protein pancakes

I made a batch of my favorite banana bread protein pancakes and topped them with maple syrup.

protein pancakes with cottage cheese and oatmeal

I have a feeling lots of different protein pancakes recipes may start resurfacing on the blog soon!

Some of my favorites:

  • Greek Yogurt Protein Pancakes
  • Pumpkin Protein Pancakes
  • Oatmeal Protein Pancakes
  • Banana Vanilla Protein Pancakes

Yum!

I’m headed out the door to work the moment this blog post is published. See ya after lunch!

Question of the Morning

  • You choose: Pancakes, waffles or French toast?

I love them all, but French toast is probably my favorite!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I’m the same way with breakfast, I will eat the same things for months before I have something else and do the same with that. I love my moms French toast but usually make pancakes if I’m making them at my place.

Waffles, please. I love when they are a little crunchy. I like butter and powdered sugar on them, no maple syrup. Yum!

I’d go with french toast – especially loaded up with fruit and maple syrup!

When I was a college freshman, they had a make-your-own belgian waffle bar. I spent MANY mornings loading up my waffle with plump raspberries, blackberries, and waaaaaaay too much whipped cream. Definitely not health conscious then! But – it was delicious and a very fond memory I have of that year. 🙂

I love pancakes or waffles on any normal day, but when we go out for breakfast, I love getting french toast. Locally, we have a restaurant called Duluth Grill and they have an AMAZING breakfast menu! The french toast is phenomenal.

Pancakes and French Toast are still wrestling on the floor for the winner. Will let you know who comes out on top. (Regardless, the winner gets doused in syrup like a Gatorade to a football coach)

That’s so funny, I just posted about waffles and pancakes! We made some oatmeal raisin pancakes and waffles from Shortstacks and they were awesome.
I love waffles because of their crispy edges, pancakes for their stackability and fluffiness, and French toast for its crust and richness. But I think pancakes win it for me!

Hi! I have a question for you… Slightly off topic, but because of your fitness and health background, I thought I would get your opinion. My favorite snack in the world is nuts– usually almonds and sometimes cashews. I workout 6-7 times a week and I try and eat a very healthy diet… I worry about nuts because of their high calorie/fat content and I definitely don’t want to gain weight… I’m interested in your view. Also I would love a post about a fitness trainer’s plan for losing weight as opposed to just good workouts! Thanks!

French toast is probably my favorite too especially when it’s made on texas toast piled with powdered sugar, butter and maple syrup. So good, yet not so healthy. Good thing I don’t eat it all the time. If I did, it might lose it’s luster.

Ooooh, that’s a tough question. I think I’d have to go with waffles (of the homemade, not toaster variety), mostly because I don’t have a waffle maker so to get waffles is a real treat.
