Start Blogging Now

July 29, 2013 by Julie 386 Comments

Thanks so much for all of you well wishes following my post about my trip to the emergency room on Saturday night. It was definitely an unnerving experience, but I’m glad it wasn’t any worse. After resting most of the day yesterday, I am feeling much better today!

Workout

My Monday began as usual with an early morning workout that focused on my legs. I kept cardio on the lighter side and completed a 10 minute elliptical warm up and cool down.

The lower body strength portion of my workout included squats, dead lifts, lunges, leg extensions and hamstring stability ball curls. It was a good one!

I will be heading back to the gym as soon as this blog post is published for work. I am subbing for another group exercise instructor today and hope it goes well!

Breakfast

The highlight of my morning meal was almond butter!

almond butter overnight oats

Last night I prepped a bowl of overnight oats and stirred a small spoonful of almond butter into the mix. This morning, I added another scoop on top and loved the addition of the creamy nut butter!

Nice and filling!

Now it’s time for a fun giveaway for those of you out there who may be interested in starting your own blog!

Start Blogging Now

Every single day, I receive emails from people who want to begin blogging but don’t know where to start. They’re excited, enthusiastic and completely overwhelmed. I typed up my Blog Talk Tuesdays series to help address the most common questions I receive, but when it comes to coding and all that jazz, most questions are way over my head.

When my friend and go-to web guy, Tim, emailed me about his new business, I knew I want to help spread the word. Tim is so, so knowledgeable and explains things in a way that makes them easy to understand which, as someone who is extremely intimidated by html coding and website set up, I really appreciate!

Tim recently launched Start Blogging Now, a six-week program detailing everything you need to know about setting up a blog, self-hosting, great plug-ins, high-quality themes, SEO, social media and more.

image

Each week there will be an in-depth video for participants to download and watch at their own pace or as often as needed. In addition, there will be written instructions, helpful links, and any necessary files that may be needed.

Here are the topics for each week:

start blogging now topics

The program also includes a weekly conference call to answer any lingering questions.

For the first 100 people who sign up, the program is $70, 50 percent off the normal enrollment price of $140. Tim also offers a 30-day money back guarantee, so if you are not satisfied halfway through the course, you can request a refund.

The first session will begin on August 1 and one PBF reader will win free access to the program!

To enter this giveaway, simply comment below, telling me what excites you the most about blogging. I will randomly select a winner on Tuesday.

Good luck!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

What most excites me about blogging is getting out on ‘paper’ everything floating around in my head. Blogging is like a friend that never gets tired of you or what you want to talk about. You can put out whatever you want, feel or think, without the expectation of anyone reading it or getting bored. I think its so therapeutic to write but also know that whoever is reading, hopefully they are enjoying themselves or benefiting in some positive way from your words.

Glad you’re feeling better. Sorry too that Ryan wasn’t there to be with you. I was out of town last month and my mom had an allergic reaction and she was all alone. She was ok but kind of scary, her throat started closing up etc and she was really worried about just not having anyone around. Hope he’s back and your legs are a normal shade by now 🙂

I’m starting a Creative Writing college course in a few weeks because most of my writing is technical in nature. Blogging along would be a great way to capture the experience and give myself a forum to write. Great giveaway!

This could not have come at a better time! I have been wanting to start a blog for the past two years and this past week gave myself a deadline to have one up and running by labor day! I have read your entire series about how to start a blog and I have researched it, but it still intimates me. Will I have enough to talk about? Will I be interesting enough? Will I have the motivation to blog daily and work full time? I am def driven and decided now or never!

My favorite thing about blogging are the relationships I’ve built over the internet. I actually feel like I know some of these girls better than I know people in real life. It’s been a huge blessing and I’ve had bloggers constantly praying for me!! I would love to expand my blog or host a new blog with a more focused theme that could actually generate a little revenue for me.

Julie! I am so sorry to hear about your allergic reaction — I can’t imagine how scary it must have been to go through all of that on your own! I’m glad that you’re feeling better.

My undergraduate degree was in journalism and marketing; I LOVE writing and am very active in social media, so it is really only a matter of time before I start blogging. I actually do have a blog, but it kind of tapered off a few months after I started it because I didn’t have a consistent routine, or theme. This might sound crazy, but I actually like the idea of blogging because it can make you accountable for things! It’s so much easier to have a positive outlook and make healthy choices about meals, snacks, and working out, if you can share your choices with other people! Also, I have a tendency to get into food routines where I eat the same thing, all the time. I feel like a blog that’s similar to yours would help me to bring some freshness into my eating habits. I really love to cook and try new recipes, but I always seem to just resort to my go-to meals when I’m busy!

I have been reading your blog for almost a year now, and it has really inspired me to start a blog of my own. I work in Brand Marketing for a consumer goods company, but one of my biggest passions has always been nutrition and healthy living. A lot of my co-workers know this about me, and will come and tell me about their latest healthy addiction or a new exercise habit, which makes my day! I would love to really begin sharing my passion with others and write about my experiences and advice to leading a balanced lifestyle! My only drawback is that I don’t know exactly how or where to start, so I would be thrilled to participate in this program and finally launch a blog that I am excited about! 🙂

I don’t yet have a blog but I’ve been meaning to start one — there’s something about having a regular, almost forced writing schedule that allows me to be creative and get my juices flowing — otherwise I just let everything stagnate. I miss the “forced” writing of college.
