Let the Wedding Mayhem Begin

March 4, 2014 by Julie 48 Comments

I feel like I can’t properly recap my day because it’s full of top secret wedding stuff, but I’ll do my best! After working through the morning and eating a quick lunch in the break room (we had free subs today!), I stopped by the alterations shop for a fitting. ` (Sorry for the super-vague…

Off to LA

J.Crew Bridesmaid dress mint green

Hello, hello! I’m back after a busy Monday! I spent the day in Orlando going through a “Healthy Living Principles” training which serves as a precursor for the LiveStrong adult cancer survivor group training that three of my coworkers and I will be going through in the coming month. My mom actually participated in the…

Pita Pit Pit Stop

I’m back in Orlando! Even though we haven’t even lived in Ocala for a full month yet, I already feel nostalgic driving on the streets I used to drive on daily. I really do miss Orlando! It’s such a fun and energetic city. I am in Orlando today because I have a meeting this evening,…

Wedding Recap: Bridesmaids

December 8, 2010 by Julie 66 Comments

020_Bridesmaids

My bridesmaid total came to six. Six incredible women. Four friends since elementary school. One sorority sister and roommate from college. One sister. We had such a great time together throughout our wedding weekend, laughing and reminiscing about fun times we shared in the past, and wondering how the time went by so quickly that…

My Bridal Shower!

September 26, 2010 by Julie 69 Comments

bridal shower 027

What a wonderful day! My sister (who is also my maid of honor) and my mom have been working for months to plan this special day for me. I’ve seen the two of them whispering and I’ve been shunned out of various rooms in my parents house the past few times I visited my family…

Rethinking

June 6, 2010 by Julie 27 Comments

I’ve been rethinking some things today… First, before lunch I met up with my friends Merri and Laurel at the pool by Laurel’s apartment to soak up some sun and catch up. Both Merri and Laurel are running in the Chicago Rock ‘n’ Roll half marathon with me on August 1 and started their training…

Instagram post 2191873802065169562_40044681 Slow Cooker Holiday Mulled Wine: The simple, low-maintenance, crowd-pleasing holiday beverage you've been looking for to make for your next holiday party! 🍷✨ This is my go-to recipe because it's warm and comforting and just sweet and cinnamon-y enough to feel like a festive holiday drink. ⠀
⠀
Here are the steps:⠀
⠀
Throw everything into a slow cooker⠀
Allow mulled wine to warm up on “low” for an hour⠀
Reduce to “warm” and top with a sprinkle of thinly-sliced oranges and cranberries⠀
Walk away and enjoy your party⠀
⠀
And the ingredient list is simple, too! Find the full recipe on the blog here: https://www.pbfingers.com/slow-cooker-holiday-mulled-wine/⠀
⠀
Oh and please do not feel the need to splurge on an expensive red wine for this recipe! I once had a sommelier friend of mine tell me that when it comes to making mulled wine, simply choose a red wine you like to drink. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy but it simply has to appeal to you without all of the added ingredients that morph it into a deliciously sweet holiday favorite. For this batch, I made the Slow Cooker Holiday Mulled Wine with a $6.99 bottle of Wellsley Farms’ Cabernet Sauvignon from @bjswholesale. Once you pour it into the slow cooker and fancy it up with thinly-sliced oranges 🍊 and pops of cranberry, no one will know you used a bottle of wine that cost less than $7 in the recipe anyway! Enjoy!!! #ad #mulledwine #holidaydrinks #holidayrecipes #slowcooker

Instagram post 2188654049733389965_40044681 I know you don’t get to choose your family but if you did, I’d choose this bunch over and over again. 💚 Another great family mountain vacation in the books! 🍁🍂
