Tired In Different Ways

September 27, 2010 by Julie 28 Comments

I think it’s funny how our bodies can be tired in totally different ways.

Sometimes my body is physically exhausted and other times I feel mentally drained.

Today my mind feels shot!

Apparently date nights and bridal showers are more draining than I thought!

Fortunately my body felt totally rested, so this morning’s BodyPump class went well! The teacher incorporated the  bicep track  from the newest release into today’s class and I loved it. Our class will do the new release in its entirety next week and I can’t wait!

Breakfast

After BodyPump and a walk around the lake near our apartment with Sadie, I was ready to eat!

I made myself a peanut butter and pumpkin sandwich using the PB2/pumpkin ratio I used for last week’s pumpkin peanut butter French toast.

PB2 + Pumpkin

I spiced up the sandwich a bit with some nutmeg and coconut shavings.

Oh La La!

Open Faced

I purchased the unsweetened coconut shavings at The Fresh Market yesterday and can’t seem to keep my lil’ mitts out of the container.

Coconut

I am a huge coconut love-ahh!

Smooshed Together

Question of the Morning

Do you ever feel like only one part of your body is tired? Just the bod or just the brain?

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I know exactly how you feel! I have a nerve disease and can’t get around too well. When I get worked up, people are always telling me to relax and put my feet up. I am like, “No, I do that too much! IT’s my BRAIN that needs to relax!”

Never commented before, but I love reading all of your wedding planning stuff. My boyfriend and I are planning to get married when he gets home from Afghanistan and I spend all this time researching wedding stuff even though we aren’t officially engaged yet. 🙂 It keeps me going when I am sad.

Yep! Both body and mind are tired today! I had a busy weekend out of town, which makes Mondays especially tough!

OMG YES!! This morning I woke up feeling SO exhausted after going to sleep at 8PM!! This whole weekend I felt like I was getting sick (sore throat, headache, etc) I wanted to make it to bed early so I could hit the gym nice an early. Once my alarm went off this morning my body felt so fatigued (after 10 hours of sleep)!!! Is that possible? Mind you I didnt make it to the gym. My brain is awake my body is moving at a snails pace this morning!!!

I often feel tired in either my body or my brain. When it’s both…I’m in trouble! Or others are because they don’t want to be near me. 😉

Right now I’m more mentally drained than anything. That’s almost worse, because you can’t fix it with a good night’s sleep. Plus, when the brain is exhausted it makes the body feel tired, too.

Ooh, I love the coconut pumpkin combo!! Yum!

I definitely feel tired in only one way sometimes…although feeling it in both is the worst!

Thank god today is my day off from working out. My sinuses are acting up which led to a bad night of sleep so I feel drained…today would’ve been a rest day planned or unplanned. Love the fall, but hate how my body reacts to sudden weather changes.

Totally. And sometimes I find that when my mind is tired but my body isn’t, it’s still hard to get out to exercise–it feels like more of a mental challenge than I can deal with. But when its just the mind that’s tired, of course working out feels great once you get out there! I have a hard time, though, sometimes figuring out which is tired: is it my body, so I should rest? Or my head, so I should go!?

I know what you mean. Sometimes with school I can just feel like my brain is fried. Its funny because often times a workout is exactly what I need to get things moving again. You know you really need some rest when both the mind and body feel tired. I think that is how I would describe finishing a race. Your mind is tired from the anxiety and your body is tired from the running! Have a good day!

LOVED looking at your brial shower pics! Your mom and sis did an incredible job!!!!

When I feel like my brain is fried I take an extra day off from working out or attend a soothing yoga class. Usually does the trick 🙂

My body always reaches its physical and mental limit by Friday. The weekend usually is left to recover and come Monday, I’m usually refreshed. Unless its a jam packed weekend like yours. Then I seem to miss that recovery time and I’m just a mess.

I feel mentally drained after a long day at school or studying. I’ve been in class or reading for 7 hours straight now and my mind is shot! I feel like I’m going to go crazy soon.

I don’t mind so much when my body is tired, but mind fatigue is annoying.

    🙁

I almost always feel mentally drained after work during the week… I have to talk myself into exercising on weekdays and keep reminding myself that my body isn’t tired, only my brain and I’ll feel SO much better once I get moving. Some days I lose the mental battle, but when I get my body going despite my brain, I’m always glad afterwards.
