10 Minute Massage Every Day for a Year?

April 2, 2014 by Julie 84 Comments

Yesterday, as I looked through my calendar on my phone to plan a conference call later this week, I realized my April is quite full! Every weekend there’s something fun on the agenda. I have a feeling it’s going to be a good month!

Weekend plans in April (in chronological order):

  • Taste of Ocala
  • “Spring Break” Weekend with my girlfriends (We haven’t seen each other since Michaela and Kyle’s wedding!)
  • Jersey Boys in Orlando with my mom and sister
  • Easter
  • My birthday

Yes, it’s also my birthday month (I turn 29 on the 27th) and as Ryan and I crawled into bed last night, he asked me if I had anything special on my birthday wish list. It was then and there that I came up with one heck of an awesome birthday gift idea.

A 10-minute massage every day for the whole year.

Wouldn’t that be amazing!?

I thought Ryan would immediately shut down my idea, but he didn’t! (He did laugh though… I wonder if that’s a bad sign?) I managed to talk him into a 10 minute massage last night, so we’ll start there. Oh glorious massages!

Breakfast

I slept really well last night but awoke this morning with a pounding headache. I don’t usually get serious headaches, so I’m hoping it goes away really soon.

Breakfast this morning began with coffee!

Coffee with cinnamon and foam

Lots of foam and cinnamon, please!

It also included a freaky deaky green protein pancake.

Green Protein Pancake

Time to change and drive to work. Hoping to take my favorite boot camp class today, too!

Question of the Morning

  • If you could convince someone to agree to do something simple for you at home every day for an entire year, what would you want them to do?

I think a 10-minute massage before bed every night for a year would be amazing, but I could also totally get behind someone doing the dishes for me every day for a year. Our dishwasher broke more than a year ago, so that would be one heck of a fabulous treat.

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I would love if somebody did my laundry for a year… With my active husband and I plus the toddler, there is ALWAYS something needing to be washed.

A 10 minute massage every day sounds amazing! I would ask for that or for someone to vacuum every other day for a year.

My boyfriend massages my head and neck for at least 10 minutes every day that I see him. I intend to ensure that this trend continues forever :P.

Dust and vacuum my house, I think, ha. Laundry is up there, and a massage, but I really just hate dusting and vacuuming. my parent’s house was all carpeted so vacuuming once a week was fine. My whole house is hard wood floors so the slightest dirt you can see all over. I hate it!

I am a lucky girl because my husband does my least favorite chore, vacuuming. I don’t really dislike it except for in our new house with all of the stairs. So ever week he does the vacuuming. Maybe I should start thinking about that massage though…..!!!

My dream would be if everyday, someone handed me (on the way out the door in the morning) a healthy, tasty lunch – packed up and ready to-go. No shopping or planning out weeks of lunches . . . that would be the life!

The massage idea is so tempting but I think I would pick someone doing a quick tidy every day. I am the worst person for leaving stuff lying around the house, so there is always clutter. I need someone to follow me around and put things away behind me. (or I could learn to put things away).

Whole Foods totally has a massage therapist on hand all of the time, who gives massages for a dollar a minute. A 10 min. massage for 10 bucks is a steal!

Aww, that’s so cute! Brownie points for Ryan that he seemed to be considering the idea 🙂

If I could have anything done for me every day it would definitely be having someone clean up after I cook. I love to cook and would do it every night if I wasn’t such a mess in the kitchen. It usually looks like a hurricane came through every time, which takes away from me being able to enjoy that delicious food!

If I could have one thing every day for a year, it would be that my husband would FOLD the laundry out of the dryer and not put it in a basket and continue to do more laundry doing the same thing until we have an unmangeable pile of laundry he won’t help me fold OR actually clean the kitchen when he cooks so I don’t have to do it after a very long day of work and school. That’s not too much to ask, right? 😉

First of all, I’ve seen Jersey Boys (I saw it in Tampa about four years ago), and it was SO good. I love that kind of music, and was amazed by the singing and performing. So I hope you enjoy that.

Second of all, I’d love to have someone do my hair and makeup for me everyday for a year, or maybe someone prepare all of my food for me and have it ready when I needed it. That’d be good too. What a clever idea for a gift though, good thinking on your part.

Change diapers! I realize changing each diaper doesn’t take ten minutes but in the course of a day it might. Or maybe have them clean my shower. We have such nasty rust water that we have to clean the shower every week or it turns a funky orange color.

My hubby completely spoils me with daily massages! My secret was asking for a 10-minute massage every day for three weeks–less daunting than a whole year, but it only takes 21 days to form a habit, so… 😉 Also, I’ve discovered that if I can distract him by chatting while he massages, I totally get more than ten minutes in, hehehe. Enjoy!
