10 Minute Massage Every Day for a Year?

April 2, 2014 by Julie 84 Comments

Yesterday, as I looked through my calendar on my phone to plan a conference call later this week, I realized my April is quite full! Every weekend there’s something fun on the agenda. I have a feeling it’s going to be a good month!

Weekend plans in April (in chronological order):

  • Taste of Ocala
  • “Spring Break” Weekend with my girlfriends (We haven’t seen each other since Michaela and Kyle’s wedding!)
  • Jersey Boys in Orlando with my mom and sister
  • Easter
  • My birthday

Yes, it’s also my birthday month (I turn 29 on the 27th) and as Ryan and I crawled into bed last night, he asked me if I had anything special on my birthday wish list. It was then and there that I came up with one heck of an awesome birthday gift idea.

A 10-minute massage every day for the whole year.

Wouldn’t that be amazing!?

I thought Ryan would immediately shut down my idea, but he didn’t! (He did laugh though… I wonder if that’s a bad sign?) I managed to talk him into a 10 minute massage last night, so we’ll start there. Oh glorious massages!

Breakfast

I slept really well last night but awoke this morning with a pounding headache. I don’t usually get serious headaches, so I’m hoping it goes away really soon.

Breakfast this morning began with coffee!

Coffee with cinnamon and foam

Lots of foam and cinnamon, please!

It also included a freaky deaky green protein pancake.

Green Protein Pancake

Time to change and drive to work. Hoping to take my favorite boot camp class today, too!

Question of the Morning

  • If you could convince someone to agree to do something simple for you at home every day for an entire year, what would you want them to do?

I think a 10-minute massage before bed every night for a year would be amazing, but I could also totally get behind someone doing the dishes for me every day for a year. Our dishwasher broke more than a year ago, so that would be one heck of a fabulous treat.

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Massages every day sound pretty fantastic to me too. Or maybe having someone do my laundry! It’s not an everyday thing, but it’s my least favorite chore. Plus, always having clean sheets sounds pretty nifty!

That’s great idea! – I’ve never thought to ask for a “service” for my birthday. Too bad my birthday was a couple of months ago. Dishes for a YEAR? Yes please! Or laundry…

either the dishes or vacuuming. i don’t have a dish washer and vacuuming is my least favorite but a must with pet hair.

I’ve been hinting at my husband for a book of “Good For 1 Back Rub” coupons every Christmas/birthday/anniversary for 2 years. My birthday is coming up…maybe this will be the year?!

That’s such a great idea! I talk Scott into ten minute massages every now and then, but to know I am getting one for an entire year might just be the best gift ever. Happy Wednesday!

I’m 26 on the 21st…day after Easter!!! Happy soon to be birthday 🙂 I’d LOVE a massage everyday! I was only saying it the other day as I pretty much crawled up the stairs to the gym! I don’t have another half at the moment so it might be pricey! Hmmm…it would probably be to empty the dishwasher!!!

Massages would be sooo nice! 🙂 Great idea!

In addition to that, I’d choose: doing the dishes after every time I bake and cleaning out my car at the end of the day each day. (It’s amazing how much stuff I pile up….actually, it’s not amazing, it’s disgusting! haha!)

I could totally get behind the 10-minute massage every night… the only thing better? An hour-long massage! I’d also love my own personal sushi chef. Might as well go big!

I would have someone wash/blow out my hair every day. I have often told my stylist that if I won the lottery (assuming one can win without playing somehow) I would hire her to do just that. Oh, it is glorious.
