Group Exercise Class Playlist

January 22, 2015 by Julie 31 Comments

Good afternoon! I hope things are going smoothly in your neck of the woods today!

My work day kicked off at 9 a.m. when I taught a sweaty indoor cycling class. We had a great group today and the class flew by which is always a good sign! I also took some time to create a new workout playlist for today’s class and wanted to share it with those of you who may be on the lookout for new workout music like I always am!

Workout Playlist

Links to all of the songs:

  • Melanie Amaro – Don’t Fail Me Now
  • Mark Ronson (feat. Bruno Mars) – Uptown Funk
  • Destiny’s Child – No, No, No <— Still just as in love with this song as I was back in the ‘90s
  • Steve Aoki (feat. Kid Ink) – Delirious (Boneless)
  • Power Music Workout – Everytime We Touch (Tabata 1)
  • Ella Henderson – Ghost
  • The Spencer Davis Group – Gimme Some Lovin’ <— Awesome throwback!
  • Sheppard – Geronimo
  • Kiesza – Hideaway
  • Manian – Ravers In The UK
  • Andy Grammer – Honey I’m Good
  • Evanescence – Bring Me To Life
  • B.o.B (feat. Rivers Cuomo) – Magic <—I really wanted to include the finale version from Pitch Perfect, but decided against it… Boo.
  • Pitbull (feat. Ke$ha) – Timber
  • Matisyahu – One Day <— Such a great recovery ride song!
  • Glee Cast – Shake It Out

This playlist has lot of energetic music thrown in, as well as some lovely cool-down tunes and even a tabata workout song that was a big-time hit with my class. They are now requesting tabata music in nearly every class!

Lunch

After cycling, I worked for a little while up until a coworker invited me along on a lunchtime bagel run. A freshly baked bagel with cream cheese sounded much more appealing than the lunch I packed, so I was all in.

bagel with veggie cream cheese

I ordered a toasted Asiago bagel with veggie cream cheese. It sat rather heavy in my stomach at first but then I found myself feeling pretty hungry less than two hours later. Bagels are so delicious but not the most satisfying!

Luckily, after a few more hours of work, I had a chance to run home to let Sadie out later this afternoon and heated up a bowl of leftover chili (topped with a sprinkle of mozzarella) for a second mini lunch.

chili with cheese

Much better!

Now I am heading back into the gym for another couple hours of work (lots of back and forth today, huh?)… And you better believe I’m already day dreaming about dinner (and hopefully a mini Homeland marathon) later tonight.

Tomorrow is FRIDAY!!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I have not had a bagel and cream cheese in I don’t know how long. Quite possibly since this time last year. It used to be my go to breakfast but they always left me feeling sluggish. But nothing beats a fresh bagel and now I am sort of craving one!

I’ve never heard of veggie cream cheese before but it sounds good!

I remember all my friends loving Destiny’s Child in high school. I was more into alternative, so it wasn’t really my thing, though I appreciate them a lot more now.

Oh that’s a GREAT playlist! I just stole a couple and added it to my workout mix on Spotify. I just wasn’t feeling it at the gym last night because my music was getting a little stale so hopefully this will give me a boost!

Some of my favorite workout songs recently:

    #Selfie- The Chainsmokers
    Falling- Haim
    Fireball- Pitbull
Bulletproof (by La Roux) vs. Release Me (by Agnes)- More from Pitch Perfect album

I already had Geronimo! I don’t know why, but it totally pumps me up. Such a great song! 🙂

I’m with you on the bagels — not super energizing but just so delicious. Sometimes we run and get a few on Sunday morning, which is a nice tradition. 🙂

    Always, Anita

Isn’t “Uptown Funk” the best? I find that my mood naturally improves when I hear that song!

Thanks for the playlist! I am paying more attention to these posts now that I am in the processing of shadowing to be a coach. One thing Ive noticed about our gym is that it’s always a little random on the music, so when I get my own classes I can’t wait to throw together some awesome playlists!

ooooh I love veggie cream cheese but I haven’t had it in foreverrrr! You’re right though, bagels really don’t fill me up at all and it’s so depressing to be hungry so quickly after eating one! ha!
