Things I’m Loving Friday #69

What is it about Fridays that instantly lift my mood? Friday is, without a doubt, my favorite day of the week. I love the anticipation of weekend fun and I feel like everyone is a little happier on Fridays.

Ryan and I have plans to attend a cocktail party on Saturday night which I am sure will be a welcomed treat after I spend all day spinning my booty off at a training in Charlotte. I am really looking forward to it!

But now it’s time to dive right into your usual Things I’m Loving Friday post where we chat about things that are making us smile every week. Please feel free to chime in below in the comments section of this post.

Thing I’m Loving Friday

  • Blackberries

Fresh blackberries aren’t exactly cheap and all too often when I end up splurging on a pint or two, they end up tasting a bit sour. Well, this week I bought a few 1/2 pints because they were buy one, get one free at the grocery store and I totally lucked out because every pint so far has been sweet and absolutely bursting with wonderful berry flavor. YES!

  • National Peanut Butter Day

Tomorrow is National Peanut Butter Day! If you share my love for the delicious nut butter, here are a few recipes you might enjoy to help you celebrate: Peanut Butter Protein Bars (<—most popular PBF recipe of 2011!), Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies, Peanut Butter Granola, Oatmeal Peanut Butter Banana Cookies, Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookie Dough Overnight Oats (<— my favorite overnight oats recipe!)

Caramel Delites

Girl Scout cookie season is upon us. HOORAY! Ryan bought five boxes from a coworker and the two of us housed a box of Caramel DeLites last night. (What? Don’t act like it’s a hard thing to do…) My favorites have always been Thin Mints and Caramel DeLites (aka Samoas), but the new-to-me Lemonade shortbread cookies Ryan bought are also surprisingly good!

  • This Boot Camp Workout

60 Minute Boot Camp Workout

I taught a boot camp class at the gym this week and took the class through a variation of this throwback PBF workout.

Directions: Complete each station in the above workout for three minutes before moving onto the next. You will likely finish all of the exercises in each station before three minutes are up, so simply repeat the exercises over and over again until three minutes are over. Rest as needed, but try to keep things moving!

It’s a sweaty one, that’s for sure!

Have you guys seen this new flavor of Perky Jerky? It’s delicious and a great grab-and-go protein-packed snack option. This week I’ve been pairing the jerky with an apple for a great mid-morning snack!

    I bought a pair of the Minx Columbia boots because I saw them on your site, and I love them!! I bought them in black, and they are my mid-range winter boots here in Chicago (because here, you need to have a low, medium, and high-grade winter pair of boots!). 🙂

    I love the weekends! My husband is learning Farsi (we are military) so after long days at school we love taking our dog for a walk on the beach on Saturday mornings. Our baby loves the water and our dog is tied out for a few hours. (: it’s a win win win situation (<- a the office reference)

    Weekend if Full of Fun! Dinner out w/MIL tonight, husbands company Winter Party Sat night, and Sunday heading to NH in search of a vacation home, eeek!!

    I really like that soup diagram! I’m anxious to try one of the recipes! When Blackberries, or any berries for that matter go on a really good sale, I buy and ton and freeze them to use throughout the year!

    Hi Julie! So Ive been a fan of your blog for years and I just watched Friends and thought of you! In season 7, Episode 17, “The one with the Cheap Wedding Dress” Joey talks about about “Peanut Butter Fingers!” You probably know that already, just mentioning it again!! ps. Sadie is adorable!

    I have been eating blackberries all week too! I usually don’t get them besides in the summer, but I just grabbed some at the grocery store last week and they are delicious 🙂

    I am absolutely loving these cheap gas prices down here in GA!!! Also, running the Hot Chocolate 15 K this weekend and I’m pretty stoke about all the running and chocolate I’ll be doing and eating 🙂 Happy weekend to you, Pbfingers 🙂

    I am LOVING my new Self magazine that features a picture of you! I was so excited to see your face in the latest issue. I told my husband, “Look, peanut butter fingers is in Self!” He looked at me like I was crazy lol. Congrats on being in the issue!

    Love the boot camp. I am still unclear how u do the stations. Do the 4 horizontally in three minutes? Do the 5 vertically in 3 min? Or just do one box for 3 minutes then move on? Tx.
