Things I’m Loving Friday #69

January 23, 2015 by Julie 84 Comments

What is it about Fridays that instantly lift my mood? Friday is, without a doubt, my favorite day of the week. I love the anticipation of weekend fun and I feel like everyone is a little happier on Fridays.

Ryan and I have plans to attend a cocktail party on Saturday night which I am sure will be a welcomed treat after I spend all day spinning my booty off at a training in Charlotte. I am really looking forward to it!

But now it’s time to dive right into your usual Things I’m Loving Friday post where we chat about things that are making us smile every week. Please feel free to chime in below in the comments section of this post.

Have a wonderful weekend, my friends! I’m off to teach PiYo!

Thing I’m Loving Friday

  • Blackberries

blackberries

Fresh blackberries aren’t exactly cheap and all too often when I end up splurging on a pint or two, they end up tasting a bit sour. Well, this week I bought a few 1/2 pints because they were buy one, get one free at the grocery store and I totally lucked out because every pint so far has been sweet and absolutely bursting with wonderful berry flavor. YES!

  • 24 Must-See Diagrams That Will Make Eating Healthy Super Easy

Healthy Homemade Soup Recipes

This collection of eye-catching infographics is so, so awesome. And each one really does a great job of simplifying healthy eating in a beautiful, visual way. Love it!

  • National Peanut Butter Day

peanut butter granola

Tomorrow is National Peanut Butter Day! If you share my love for the delicious nut butter, here are a few recipes you might enjoy to help you celebrate: Peanut Butter Protein Bars (<—most popular PBF recipe of 2011!), Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies, Peanut Butter Granola, Oatmeal Peanut Butter Banana Cookies, Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookie Dough Overnight Oats (<— my favorite overnight oats recipe!)

  • Girl Scout Cookies

Caramel Delites

Girl Scout cookie season is upon us. HOORAY! Ryan bought five boxes from a coworker and the two of us housed a box of Caramel DeLites last night. (What? Don’t act like it’s a hard thing to do…) My favorites have always been Thin Mints and Caramel DeLites (aka Samoas), but the new-to-me Lemonade shortbread cookies Ryan bought are also surprisingly good!

  • Love for Leggings

Leggings Love

I shared this on Instagram last week after I saw it on a Pure Barre studio’s page and love it way too much. Leggings fo’ life!

  • This Boot Camp Workout

60 Minute Boot Camp Workout

I taught a boot camp class at the gym this week and took the class through a variation of this throwback PBF workout.

Directions: Complete each station in the above workout for three minutes before moving onto the next. You will likely finish all of the exercises in each station before three minutes are up, so simply repeat the exercises over and over again until three minutes are over. Rest as needed, but try to keep things moving!

It’s a sweaty one, that’s for sure!

  • Perky Jerky

Perky Jerky

Have you guys seen this new flavor of Perky Jerky? It’s delicious and a great grab-and-go protein-packed snack option. This week I’ve been pairing the jerky with an apple for a great mid-morning snack!

  • A Few Great Sales…

Columbia Minx Boots

  • Hautelook’s Columbia sale featuring my favorite Minx boots! I swear I wear them every single day.
  • Zulily’s Athleta sale featuring a bunch of cute leggings (love the ombré!), tops and jackets. They also have a New Balance sale going on right now that randomly has some awesome deals on Garmin watches thrown in, too!
  • Old Navy is offering 20% off everything today with the code SAVEBIG. (Love this $10 scarf!)

Questions of the Day

  • What is one thing you are absolutely loving this week?
  • Any fun weekend plans out there?

I love that they’re called Caramel Delites in your area too (Central PA here). It seems like most of the country is “Samoas”. I never knew them as Samoas until my husband called them that – and his hometown is only 4 hours across the state!

ME TOO!!! I grew up in Illinois and they were always Caramel DeLites! Then, when I moved to FL, they were Samoas and I am so happy to be back in a place that calls them by their RIGHT name. 😉

I am SO with you regarding leggings. I HATE JEANS! They are so uncomfortable. I wear leggings almost every day in the colder months with a long top/tunic. When I do wear jeans, which is RARE, my husband is like “whoa, you’re wearing jeans?!” haha. I’m also loving those boots at the end of the post.

Hi Julie! I’ve been following your blog for awhile and I always love your “Things I’m Loving Friday” posts! I am very new to the blogging world and just started my own on wordpress (https://sweatelove.wordpress.com/). I’ve used some of the tips from your blogging beginner posts and they have been really helpful. Especially the tip to keep a cohesive theme- I am still working on that hahah. If you want to check out my blog and have any feedback I would really appreciate it! I’m really impressed by your blog success. Also that legging instagram post is one of the funniest things I’ve seen in awhile- I had to send it to a bunch of my friends!

I also look forward to this post every week. I finally tried out The Charlotte Bar Method classes after you posted about it a few weeks ago… and it was totally “a thing I am loving this Friday.” I am an avid crossfitter and runner and found that The Bar Method really completes my exercise routine. Within the first week I see results and feel results. It is such a welcoming environment and all together so fun! I really loved it! AND FREE CLASSES! Now that’s a steal!

I’ve been getting in some extra work outs today because of this. And tomorrow I’m having a ‘Friend’s Marathon’ with a girlfriend of mine since she got the entire series on DVD for Xmas.

As for soup, I have a Wolfgang Puck’s 10,000 Lakes Minestrone soup cooking on the stove and the house smells amazing!!!!! It has so much healthy stuff in it and it’ll be great for lunch at work this week.
