55 Minute Treadmill Incline Walk/Run Workout

February 21, 2013 by Julie 86 Comments

Ready to get sweaty?

Check out today’s 55-minute Treadmill Incline Walk/Run Workout!

55 Minute Treadmill Incline Walk-Run Workout

This morning when I arrived at the gym, I figured I’d complete a cardio hodgepodge workout and jump from machine to machine. In the end, I decided to play around with the incline and speed on the treadmill to fight boredom and completed a 55-minute incline walk/run workout.

Treadmill Workout

If you think incline walking is a joke, think again! I honestly felt like running at a 6.5 was easier than haulin’ hiney at at 12.0 incline.

The workout only includes 15 total minutes of running but the running is spread out throughout the workout, so if you’re not a big fan of running on the treadmill, this workout doesn’t include a ton of it!

More treadmill workouts:

  • 25 Minute Interval Workout
  • 45 Minute “Make Your Face Sweat” Workout
  • 25 Minute Treadmill Walking Workout
  • You Pick: 15 or 30 Minute Incline Walking Workout

Breakfast

When I arrived home, breakfast was waiting for me in the fridge.

Last night I prepped a bowl of overnight oats, but also added some cooked barley and quinoa to the mix since I ran out of oats.

Breakfast has looked better, that’s for sure, but it was nice and filling.

Hope you have a great Thursday! (Does it feel like Friday to anyone else???)

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Oh, that’s a great idea to mix in some other grains into over night oats. I always just stick with the simple oats/oat bran, but never think to mix it up with other grains, even though I’ve tried savory oats…might as well try sweet grains.
That looks like a fun walking workout. The only way I’ll get on a treadmill is to walk, I just hate running. I like this one! Especially for the incline.

Thanks for the workout. I love running, and I love walking. Yet nothing really shapes my legs like run/walking. 🙂

i totally agree that walking at an incline is way tougher. that’s probably why i never do it. but it works different muscles so props to you!

Speaking of fighting boredom on the treadmill.. I’d love to hear what you for ‘machine distractions’ – an iPod playlist you’d share? or a magazine? or watching TV?

I tend to get bored quickly without distractions. 😉

Cardio hodgepodge workouts are the best! I love the combo of incline walking and running. I’m trying to run more in the next few weeks since I have a little 5k coming up, and for the life of me I cannot run at a steady speed on the treadmill. I have to change the speeds up and down, left and right in order to keep myself interested and keep in line with my breathing. I wish I was one of those runners who could just zone out!

Nice treadmill workout! I have been using the treadmill for all my speed work outs lately. I hate being on it but it makes me get the runs done faster and that way I’m not dodging carss!

Great workout. I went through a phase where I was walking on a steep incline everyday and to be honest it started to kill my lower back, make sure to stretch correctly after! I’ve now since switched it up to running some days and incline walking on others and my back feels so much better.

Great blog by the way, I just started reading! : )

Hey Julie! Do you think this would still be a good workout even if the power walking and running speeds were slightly slowed down (walking at maybe 3.7 mph and running around 6 mph)? I’m still trying to build up my speed and don’t want to fly off the back of the treadmill trying to run at 7 mph!

What I don’t get is the people that put the incline way way up and then have to hold on. You lose most of the benefit of the incline if you are holding on. I can hear Jillian screaming in my head “LET GO”.
