Funny Wi-Fi Names

September 10, 2014 by Julie 95 Comments

Internet is on the horizon! All of this back-and-forth nonsense will hopefully stop today because I have a two-hour window on the books later this morning for our internet to be installed. Heck yes!

And speaking of internet, yesterday I randomly saw an article that featured a list of hilarious Wi-Fi names. I kind of want to adopt one of them for our new network!

Some of my favorites:

  • Abraham Linksys
  • The LAN Before Time (<—Memories!! Littlefoot, Petrie, Spike, Ducky, Cera! Love.)

The Land Before Time

  • Bill Wi the Science Fi
  • Pretty Fly for a Wi-Fi
  • FBI Surveillance Van #594
  • Drop It Like It’s Hotspot
  • Bill Clinternet

So creative! I don’t know why things like this amuse me so much, but they do. Ryan sneakily named our previous network “Julie’s Hot Body” to embarrass me and it totally worked. It was the worst when we’d have guests over and they’d want to connect to our internet and I had to tell them that name. Now that I’m in charge of internet installation, I’m a little tempted to get him back…

Workout + Breakfast

Today’s workout was another Pure Barre burner with one of my favorite teachers. I followed the class with a hot bowl of oatmeal that I made with apple cinnamon Chex oatmeal, milk, pumpkin pie spice and my last sample packet of About Time cake batter protein powder that I got from the IDEAWorld expo.

I’m ruling that protein powder out of any future smoothies or meals. It just is not for me.

I followed breakfast up with a cappuccino from a local coffee shop since I needed to use their Wi-Fi.

Now I’m headed back home to meet the internet installation guy! Hope you guys have a great day!

Question of the Morning

  • What are some of the funny/creative Wi-Fi network names you’ve encountered?

I once saw one simply called “Mr. Miyagi” which I thought was awesome. Karate Kid!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I am not a huge fan of protein powder. I never like the after taste, always chalky or not good? Have you tried any that do not have that…maybe its just me lol

Hahaha, those are all so great. And kudos to Ryan for your unique Wi-Fi name. Awesome! The LAN before time might be fav from that list, just because it brings back memories. Littlefoot! 🙂

Haha that cracks me up– you should totally get him back.

Ours currently is “How I Met Your Wifi,” which is a nice little homage to my boyfriend’s obsession with that show. 🙂

    Always, Anita

My home wifi is called Pterodactyl Deluxe. Because pterodactyls are awesome (and also remind me of Petrie!) and adding “deluxe” to anything makes it more awesome.

My husband and I live in a decent condo complex but have some shady neighbors that live a few doors down (obviously dealing drugs from their apartment) so we used the FBI Surveillance Van Wi-Fi name to freak them out. It seems to have worked because a year or so later we found out they had been asking around to see whoseWi-Fi network it was.

I live in a highly populated city area so generally see many “wifi” names when I log in. At one point I had a neighbor (don’t know which one) who apparently named theirs “nice t*ts you got their honey”. 6 mo later I had another separate account that said “my a** ain’t half bad either”. Gotta love it …. 🙂

Omg, my husband loves coming up with wacky names. Oh and don’t worry….if you try to get Ryan back, you know that you can easily change the router/network name, right? Be careful…..
My brother and his roommate named theirs “pump palace” and my husband likes naming after movies and recently named one “virus detected”. Ha!

My boyfriend and I have a dog named Jack, so everything computer related has his name in it! The WiFi is “Jack’s WiFi” and the password is “BlackJack.” Then when we bought an iMac together last year, we registered it to Jack’s name (Jack The Dog) and made the company for Microsoft Office “Jack’s Bone Factory.” The password to log onto the computer is now “milkbones,” though we change it periodically to things like “squeaktoy” and “goforawalk.” Haha! We are obsessed.

My old neighbors in boston were incredibly loud while having, ahem, private time. Our neighbors across the hall could hear them too so one day I saw the newest wifi addition “we can hear you having sex”. I died!

In college my roommates and I had “Booze O’Clock” as our wifi network name. Soooo mature…

And a couple of weeks ago I was looking up directions on my phone and possible wifi connections popped up. One was “#YOLOSWAG420” I hope I never meet the person who named it…
