Air Fryer Pesto Salmon

Drumroll please… It’s here! My first-ever air fryer recipe. Air Fryer Pesto Salmon!!!

Air Fryer Pesto Salmon

Truth be told, it’s about time I shared an air fryer recipe in this space because I make no secret about the fact that our air fryer was one of the best mini appliances we’ve added to our kitchen collection in years. I say “our air fryer” as if we have only one but — confession time — we actually have two air fryers. I promise I use and love them both!

Air Fryer Pesto Salmon

My most used air fryer is our Instant Vortex Air Fryer because it’s so lovely and small and not too heavy or cumbersome. It actually lives on our countertop because I use it multiple times a week and it doesn’t take up too much space. I turn to this little air fryer instead of the oven because it preheats in almost no time at all and air fries, bakes, roasts and reheats. Bonus points: It cleans very easily!

My runner-up air fryer is my Instant Pot Pro Crisp 8 Quart Pressure Cooker. It functions as an air fryer as well thanks to the two interchangeable lids and I swear this machine can do everything! I use this Instant Pot multiple times a week as well but since it doesn’t live on our countertop like my Instant Vortex Air Fryer, I typically use the smaller appliance for air frying based solely on convenience. My larger Instant Pot gets a lot of love for slow cooking and pressure cooking though and is great for crisping food like carnitas after they’ve cooked in the pressure cooker. YUM.

Okay, okay, I think you guys get the picture. AIR FRYERS ARE AWESOME. And so this this recipe for Air Fryer Pesto Salmon! Why? First of all, it’s fast. Really fast. We’re talking ready in 15 minutes or less fast.

Air Fryer Pesto Salmon

Second, you only need three ingredients to make it. Three!

  • Salmon: Perfectly pink and flaky and jam-packed with healthy fat and protein
  • Premade Pesto Sauce: If you’re feeling fancy you can make your own pesto sauce from scratch but I’m all about that shortcut life, especially during busy weeknights
  • Garlic salt: Probably my favorite seasoning because, ahem, garlic and salt — a match made in tastebud heaven

Air Fryer Pesto Salmon

And third, it’s a perfectly flaky, salty, garlicy, savory delight. Pair it with pasta or rice and roasted veggies and enjoyyy!

WOW THat’s a beautiful dish. We are pescatarians and salmon is one of our faves. I haven’t used the air fryer yet for salmon, but this looks too yummy to miss. There’s a “Heavenly Halibut” recipe we love that is really a topping recipe that goes great on any white fish: a little melted butter, a little mayo, shredded cheese, and squirt of lemon juice. Mix the topping and spread on the top of cooked fish–place under broiler for a minute or two and voila!
    Thank you!
PS I’ve followed your blog since you and your family went to Europe MANY moons ago. I was googling “packing for Europe in one carry-on” and you popped up! Your blog is outstanding and I so appreciate the time it takes to juggle ALL that you do.
