Fast Paced + Sweaty Leg Workout

April 24, 2014 by Julie 51 Comments

Good morning!

How have you guys been this week? Things have been trucking along as usual for me. I’ve really enjoyed sharing the first two wedding recap posts from Leslie and Ross’ special day this week and I cannot thank you enough for your thoughtful comments. You all make me (and my entire family!) smile. Part three is coming soon!

Leg Workout

Today’s workout focused on my legs, but kept my heart rate up thanks to lots of plyometric exercises.

After a 10 minute elliptical warm up, I completed the following workout:

Fast Paced Sweaty Leg Workout

More leg workouts:

  • Collection of Leg Workouts
  • Legs Like Jello Workout
  • Lower Body Burnout
  • Explosive Leg Workout
  • Lower Body + Abs Circuit Workout

Breakfast

Once I arrived home from the gym, I was craving a banana and almond butter for breakfast, so I put them together to make a breakfast quesadilla!

breakfast quesadilla

I spread almond butter on half of a tortilla, topped it with banana slices and a sprinkle of cinnamon before folding over the other half and digging in!

Almond butter and banana breakfast quesadilla

Not a bad way to start the day!

Now it’s time for me to return to the gym for work. Have a great Thursday!

P.S. Congratulations to Shannon and Mike on their wedding this weekend! <3

Julie, thank you so much for the wedding shout-out! I’m so excited to marry my best friend…we’ve been together 9 years now and will be moving to Kodiak Island, Alaska this summer. Your blog will give me my Florida fix when I’m feeling down, and I’ll be able to do your workouts to beat the winter blues.

Leah is so great! I saw her at Crossfit, and felt like a stalker when I asked, “I’ve seen your picture on the internet. Are you friends with Peanut Butter Fingers?” Luckily, she didn’t think I was a complete weirdo. Leah’s mom, Trish, is letting me get married in her backyard and of course Leah and Jenn are helping to make the whole wedding a success. I don’t know what I’d do without them – they are the nicest and most genuine people I’ve ever met. Thanks again for making my day!

So if you kept your banana whole and wrapped the tortilla around it, you could slice it up and make little round banana, almond butter, bites. I’ve seen those as portable snacks before. Cute and healthy.

Mmm you just inspired me to add cinnamon to my banana/nut butter combos more often!

P.S. I have two Body Pump questions, if you have a second…. when you go to class, do you usually do any additional cardio (like elliptical beforehand), or just the class? Also, I went to Pump last night, and my jaw was a bit sore afterwards — I assume that means I was prob lifting too heavy, yes? Writing that out, the answer seems obvious.
