Group Exercise Workout Playlist

May 14, 2014 by Julie 26 Comments

We’re halfway through the workweek already! Woop!

I was up bright and early this morning to squeeze in my workout before it was time to teach the boot camp class at my gym.

For today’s workout, I warmed up on the treadmill for 10 minutes before completing the bicep workout I shared on the blog a little more than a month ago.

Once my workout was done, I headed into the break room to grab lunch and plan out today’s boot camp class.

Much like when I teach TRX, when I teach boot camp, I demonstrate the movements for everyone ahead of time but don’t do the workout with the class since the format of the class has everyone doing something different and I need to be available to answer questions, check form, time the circuits, etc. (All of the instructors at our gym teach these classes in a similar fashion.)

Today’s boot camp workout was very similar to this boot camp workout with three minute stations. I changed out about 50 percent of the exercises and had everyone working up a sweat.

And for my fellow group exercise instructors who may be on the lookout for some pump up music for your classes, below you will find the playlist I used for today’s class!

Upbeat Workout Playlist - Great for group exercise instructors

If you’ve downloaded songs from some of my other workout playlists, a few of the above songs may look awfully familiar to you. They’re some of my favorites!

Lunch

After teaching and working through the rest of the morning, I drove home to let Sadie out and grab lunch. On the menu for today was a salad using leftover seasoned grouper from Monday night’s fish tacos.

Fish Taco Salad

Before topping spring mix with the fish and shredded cheese, I drizzled the greens with a dressing I quickly whipped together using olive oil, red wine vinegar, honey and cumin (a delicious combination I owe to a Cook Smarts recipe)!

I also had a Kashi crunchy chocolate chip chia granola & seed bar.

Not a bad lunch for something that came together in five minutes!

Now it’s time to head back out the door. I am hoping to get a hair cut after work today because boy oh boy do I need it. Yikes!

Question of the Afternoon

  • What song(s) are you currently loving on your workout playlist?

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Great playlist for classes! If I was in one of yours you might find me rocking out and lip singing. It’s probably for the best that I’ve never had the opportunity. 😉

Another blogger gave me the idea to warm up the the song “Happy” by running in place and doing a burpee every time the word happy is sang. I know it should be miserable but it actually somehow makes me in a better mood before my workout!
