10 Watermelon Recipes To Try This Summer

A roundup of 10 watermelon recipes to make this summer, featuring everything from popsicles and smoothies to appetizers, drinks and dessert! Last year, when I was pregnant, I’m pretty sure I ate my bodyweight in watermelon. It was my number one pregnancy craving (followed closely by gummy candy and anything from Chipotle) and it’s still…

Easy Watermelon Pineapple Popsicles -- Only 60 calories and so delicious!

These Easy Watermelon Pineapple Popsicles are refreshing, delicious and only require three ingredients! Blend watermelon, pineapple and fresh mint together for a summertime treat that’s healthy, perfectly cold and slightly sweet! If you’ve popped by PBF over the course of the past few weeks, you’re probably well aware of my ongoing love affair with watermelon. It’s borderline ridiculous because…

Hot Dog

When you take a dog hiking at 11:15 a.m. in the middle of the summer in Florida, you’re left with one hot dog on the drive home. Yes, those towels were there to catch her slobber. Hiking is probably our favorite thing to do in Ocala, but we haven’t gone in quite a while because…

watermelon

Two foods I cannot get enough of this week: Pickles: I recently rediscovered the magic that is bread ‘n’ butter pickles and polished off an entire jar by myself in two days. No, I am not pregnant (or Snooki). Watermelon: On sale. In season. In my belly.  I stopped by the grocery store on my…

london 2012 olympics

I know I’m not alone in my excitement for the opening ceremonies of the 2012 Olympic Games tomorrow. Whenever the Olympics are on and we’re at home, the television is almost always tuned into the latest event. I love the energy of the Olympics and watching the world’s best athletes is inspiring, gripping and just…

Some Work, Some Fun

turquoise and yellow necklace

Today was a fun day. First, as I was getting dressed, I stumbled upon a necklace that my sister gave me that I thought I lost months ago. Score! It’s the little things, my friends. And yes, I know I have freckly skin. The dermatologist tells me this, too. I always mess up and say…

Instagram post 2191873802065169562_40044681 Slow Cooker Holiday Mulled Wine: The simple, low-maintenance, crowd-pleasing holiday beverage you've been looking for to make for your next holiday party! 🍷✨ This is my go-to recipe because it's warm and comforting and just sweet and cinnamon-y enough to feel like a festive holiday drink. ⠀
⠀
Here are the steps:⠀
⠀
Throw everything into a slow cooker⠀
Allow mulled wine to warm up on “low” for an hour⠀
Reduce to “warm” and top with a sprinkle of thinly-sliced oranges and cranberries⠀
Walk away and enjoy your party⠀
⠀
And the ingredient list is simple, too! Find the full recipe on the blog here: https://www.pbfingers.com/slow-cooker-holiday-mulled-wine/⠀
⠀
Oh and please do not feel the need to splurge on an expensive red wine for this recipe! I once had a sommelier friend of mine tell me that when it comes to making mulled wine, simply choose a red wine you like to drink. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy but it simply has to appeal to you without all of the added ingredients that morph it into a deliciously sweet holiday favorite. For this batch, I made the Slow Cooker Holiday Mulled Wine with a $6.99 bottle of Wellsley Farms’ Cabernet Sauvignon from @bjswholesale. Once you pour it into the slow cooker and fancy it up with thinly-sliced oranges 🍊 and pops of cranberry, no one will know you used a bottle of wine that cost less than $7 in the recipe anyway! Enjoy!!! #ad #mulledwine #holidaydrinks #holidayrecipes #slowcooker

Instagram post 2188654049733389965_40044681 I know you don’t get to choose your family but if you did, I’d choose this bunch over and over again. 💚 Another great family mountain vacation in the books! 🍁🍂
